Ok, another question -- if I had thought of it about 10 minutes ago, I would have included it in my other post. Sorry. The beta patch of April 3rd states that war exhaustion now increases when you recruit troops (+1 we for 100% manpower consumption). Taking into account all of the previous beta patches from 1.06 to 1.07b2, war exhaustion now operates as follows:
1) You gain war exhaustion when engaging in hostilities during wartime (ie. each year with battles and occupations).
2) You gain war exhaustion when extracting war taxes
3) You gain war exhaustion when recruiting troops
4) You shed war exhaustion when at peace or when not engaging in hostilities during wartime
My question: war exhaustion is now totally dependant upon your level of involvement in the war and amount of burden placed on your populace? If you join a war and neither send troops nor recruit soldiers, you can remain at war for extended periods of time with no ill effects?
If this is all true, I'd have to say it is very cool.
