I did some digging and found my old Atlantis scenario, which I believe was released around patch version 1.04.

I cleaned up the files a bit to make it work in moddir mode. Everything works for EU2 vanilla version 1.09. Sadly I could not find my event files ( :( ) which was pretty damn long, so right now the event file is empty.

Background:

I "invented" the backstory, which you can find in the country description.

The reborn Atlantide Empire is 7 cities, 2 colonies strong in 1419.

Country culture is atlantide.

Techgroup orthodox, religion hinduism (which has been changed in-game to pantheism iirc)

Whiteman = 100 (meaning you can build cavalry and boats right away even though you start in America)

The mod itself can be found here.

It's a standard moddir folder, just place it in your Europa Universalis 2 folder. Then go in the atlantis folder and double click the icon. Assuming your EU2 is in the standard C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Europa Universalis 2 path, it will start up. If your EU2 is installed elsewhere, you'll need to rightclick the Atlantis shortcut, go in properties and adjust the target and start-in fields to point to the appropriate place.

Looks great! But you EGUFSMise the shields. Plus, Silvershields are not used since EUI. ;)

Actualy silvershields are a EU2 thang. They just got bumped with one of the patches (1.06 or something).

I don't think so, The Atlantians would have been isolated from Europe for thousands of years, I think most of their knowledge would be lost after this long time. But would an Atlantian Empire also not have effects on the other American tribes? I could imagine that the aztecs and the mayans would have taken some idaes from them and they would have traded a lot. Maybe they should have adapted the panthean religion and some other things ( like shipbuilding)

I think Atlantida should only own bahamas, is where are the "vestiges" of the civilization, and that would piss of the spaniards.

Thanks for the feedback guys :)

Kaigon: I stole the shield/flagset and 4 sprite sets (iirc) from your website. I included you in the acknowledgements, with BeBro for reorg gfx and Havard (of course) for his event bible, and mostly for his Vinland work that got me started modding about 4 years ago :)

Prince Ares/ Ayeshteni: Wasn't sure about the silver shields. They came in Kaigon's download, so I decided to leave them in.

Orimazd: I decided to go with an ancient greek "feel" to the Atlantide, mostly because of Plato's mentions. Also, it was easier for name generation of leaders and monarchs, instead of going with a random name generator that gives screwy/stupid results. ;) As it stands the monarch lines are mostly greek descent, while the military (land/naval leaders) are from balkan/slavic/hungarian stock.

Osteles: from the country description:

"The Atlantis Island was splintered more than twenty centuries ago by massive volcanic activity. Its people fled wherever they could, finding refuge in the different islands of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding lands. Over time these refugees came to form different tribes, constantly in conflict. In 1389 AD, a victor finally emerged from the Yemela lineage. Centered around the Cuban isles, Theodorus Leonius' powerful pikemen proved too much for the two major remaining tribes. He was crowned Emperor on the 31st of december, 1418, before a huge crowd in Torsatar, which would later be renamed Imperial City. The Atlantide Empire is reborn, finally emerging from 20 centuries of chaos. Will you be the one to reassert its ancient glory?"

All fictional of course, but it somewhat explains their placement on the world map, their limited interaction with mesoamericans so far, and their ignorance of europe/mediterranean

Stinus: I'm working on some events that deal with mesoamericans-atlantide relations ;)

Any idea for events are welcome!

Wars + cores on Aztec Empire?

Anyway, promising scenario. I do, however, think that Theodoros (right?) as a 4-6-4-1 leader should have more than a maximum of three in MIL.

Maybe revise the random events too to make them more suiting?

Good point about the king there. Changed to 6/5/6 for now.

I also changed the pantheism religion symbol to:

religionstl4.jpg

but I find it's bleeding-eyes ugly as sin.

Any ideas on a fitting symbol to use?

I'm writing some Machiavellian-type events regarding the Mesoamericans. Poor things, they'll never see it coming :D

The plan is to have the player ally with the mayans against the Aztecs later on, or to nudge them to attack them.

I would like to point out that when the Spanish were in the carribbean, there were hints about what was going on in the mayan coastline, and reports also were reaching the Huey-Tlatoani of the Mexica (at the time it was Motecazoma II). There had been Mayan peoples as far away as venezuela (I cannot prove this with a link or anything, just a map; if you consider 1491 to be a credulous book then ignore everything I say...most people who don't like the book don't like its general tone towards native americans, but don't say anything about the facts presented). I am pretty sure that Anyone in mesoamerica would know that there was shit going down in the carribbean, and I don't see why some atlanteans wouldn't have washed up in mexico like in most of the carribbean islands.

lol, if I had been making this I would have put them in Indonesia, but that's just me and what I like (and I have read too much graham hancock, and too much is fingerprints of the gods).

Do you have a link to the original thread on this project, or was there never one?
