Was curious if the 9/9 bonus will see the return of the 20% discount. Currently am torn between the A Song of Ice and Fire box set and Sengoku, but laboring under a rather serious spending money deficit.

I think it won't be 20%, probably some other bonus or a smaller discount.

I see a preorder bonus on gamersgate, it seems to be just heart of iron 3, unfortunately I already have the game.
I feel a bit cheated by this preorder thing having subscribed to facebook and waited for it then not get a notice in time while it was working for the whole 24h, so this whole thing was probably done to boost sales a bit but in my case it will have the opposite effect.

Yeah I noticed that too. Honestly, though, at this point, I'd much rather just pay full price instead of waiting around the boards to hear about what the "special" offer is going to be for those next 24hrs. I mean, it's great that they offer things but just like you, I also have HoI III... in fact I have the entire "Complete" pack from GamersGate.

I feel the same. I liked the game on facebook but didn't get a notice about it, so when I saw the game was up for preorder on gamersgate I bought it, thinking I would get the bonus automaticly. Now it turns out I payed full price and I probably won't get the normal preorder bonus either.

The preorder thing has been handled terribly, really out of character for Paradox. I was more surprised than angry.

I can't tell you if sengoku will be good or not, but I can confirm that A Song of Ice and Fire is excellent .

When you liked the game on FB it said something along the lines of "Check back here later for your pre-order code"...

Come on, we give out a 20% discount and that's terrible? It's a shame some people missed it, but it was a one day deal and it was posted both on FB and in the thread here. It's like any other sale, it's on for a limited time only.

People missed it because of the inbox it was sent to. I'm pretty sure that's Facebook's fault, nor Paradox's. I never kenw that inbox existed, and when I went in there was all sorts of other stuff there I hadn't known about.

Well, thanks for the Paradox perspective, I suppose.

For future referance, it would have been nice to have gotten a notification, or an email, or anything.

Instead, because it just so happens that I wasn't on facebook or the forums due to a 12 hour shift, I missed out, and now probably won't be preordering, and therefore won't be giving money to the developer.

I sense a massive Paradox sale next week to celebrate the release of Sengoku and King Arthur: Fallen Champions. Perhaps as much as 70% off [other] titles in the Paradox catalog!!!

Though, will the massive sale be on Steam or GamersGate??? That is my only question. My sources are unable to confirm.

Oh yeah, I just went to Facebook and checked after reading this, and what do you know, in an apparently hidden part of my inbox was a message from Paradox with a discount code. I guess I have to pay full price now We could probably have double-checked to see how you would get it but I agree with you here that Facebook wasn't exactly helping out...

What you should have said in advance was "There is going to be a limited preorder for facebookers only. This special offer will only be available for 24h once launched. Check back here later for your pre-order code"...
You missed to imform the public that it would only be available for 24h. This info was only given once the 24h periode started. If this had been known before, I would have made sure to check in every day even though I wasnt home.

There was a date set at first...but it got delayed for some reason. Kind of a sloppy thing not to give a new date. Well, I shouldn't complain though, since I got the discount, but that was just because I checked the Senguka facebook page every day for it, else I would have missed it as well.

Come think of it, I would almost have preferred getting HOI 3 instead, since I don't own it

In the big scheme of things, the 20% discount saved you what, $6? Not really worth getting worked up over it, IMO.
