This has probably been mentioned at least a dozen times in the past, but if so, here it is again.
Here's the thing. I go to war against the Muslims. I siege down an entire duchy, as this is a holy war. Every barony I touch, I steal a child, two wives, and a random courtier. Every battle I fight, I capture two or three nobles. In the end, the war is over, and... I have 41 prisoners in my dungeon.
Now, I could sift through them all, find the ones that can be ransomed for their 10-25 gold, and sell them back to their loved ones. But when you're ruling a massive empire, that's just tedious, and the gain is insignificant. So you leave everyone to rot in the ground. Sending innocent women and children and crown heirs to the oubliette becomes the easiest option, if only to get rid of those pesky notifications and events, and to drive down that massive prison population in time for the next war.
Even on a smaller scale, when you're only imprisoning one or two guys per war, it can still be tedious to go through the people you already have locked away. I've had prisoners last ten, twenty, even thirty or more years down there, blocking the way for others to be ransomed.
Therefore, I say that adding a "random all prisoners" (at least, the ones that can be randomed) button would do wonders for streamlining this feature. It would making taking prisoners to be much less of a chore, and more of the boon that they were meant to be. One click, and - presto - everyone's back home with their families. Save those without families that can pay, of course.
