We all know that Shia is like, the best most powerful noob pwning religion, but which religion do you all feel is the most entertaining in terms of events, mechanics, etc.? Has the new Curia made Catholicism more or less fun? Will anyone try to pretend that Buddhism is cool? Let's find out! Here's my ranking:

1. Hinduism - Lots of flavor events and the deity choices make Hinduism by far my favorite. Plus, it just may have the coolest color.
2. Shinto - This one doesn't have a whole lot going for it (a few interesting events), but it's got a cool color and it's also fun to be basically the only one with your religion, spreading it by the sword.
3. Catholicism - The new curia did a lot for me here. Way less micromanagement and a lot less certainty if you want to control the Pope, but a lot more if you don't.
4. Sikh - Just because it's rare, really. I don't think I've ever chosen to be Sikh though because Hinduism is so much cooler than everything else.
5. Coptic - The rarity factor and the difficulty factor in Coptic starts attracts me to it. Plus, cool color.
6. Orthodox - Patriarch Authority isn't THAT cool, but at least it's more of a long-term strategic decision now instead of being a no-brainer.
7. Protestant - The religion for idlers. Nothing cool mechanically other than the new HRE war, but still fun due to the Reformation just being entertaining to begin with.
8. Reformed - I find the Fervor system to be a little too micromanagey, but it has all the other things Protestant has going for it plus a little bit of rarity cool factor.
9. Confucianism - Just for the color and the symbol.
10. Ibadi - Rarity cool factor. Piety system is kind of boring IMO.
11. Pagans - They're all basically the same and kinda lame, but at least you can have fun invading Europe and converting people to "savage" religions.
12. Sunni - This is the first religion on this list I can't get excited about at all. I don't much care for the piety system and Sunni is everywhere, so there's no rarity cool factor. I do like religions that give +Tolerance of True Faith though.
13. Shia - A little rarer than Sunni, but no +Tolerance of True Faith.
14. Buddhism - The far-east religions are the only ones who haven't had a lot of expansion gravy poured on them yet, and Buddhism is the least gravy-y of them all.

Post 'em up: YOUR LISTS!

1.) Hindusim - same reason
2.) Reformed - best Christianity. Good bonuses, good color, good events, and fervor is a nice system
3.) Shia - Best Islam and piety events are great.
4.) Orthodox - Second best Christianity. Shame Patriarchal Authority events got nerfed into the ground.
5.) Sunni - Next best Islam and best if you want to stack negative piety because attacking other Sunnis is a great way to tank piety and an option that Ibadi and Shia don't really have.
6.) Ibadi - Worst Islam, but still more fun than everything else because, again, piety.
7.) Catholic - I don't like the new Curia and the system makes it a completely worthless religion for anyone outside of Europe because you don't even get papal influence for converting provinces (at least outside of Europe). If you're any Catholic nation outside of Europe, convert to Protestant or Reformed ASAP. That said, still more fun than "never interact with your religion again" Protestant.
8.) Sikh - neat events, but they're too rare and there's no other interaction with the religion.
9.) Protestant - Second least fun Christian. The bonuses are good, but it's boring and other than the League Wars, you never really do anything with it other than have it. Everything fun about this, you can participate in (and do so more fun-ly) as Reformed.
10.) Shinto - Neat events, but other than that, it's just a crappy knockoff of Shia.
11.) Coptic - It's like if you took all the idleness of Protestant and taped it to the uninspiring bonuses of a Curia-free Catholic. And yet, it's still better than what comes after this.
12.) Buddhist/Confucian - for all intents and purposes these are the same religion in-game. They're both boring, uninteractive, and have sub-par bonuses. Pass.
13.) Pagans - Like above, but you suck even harder at converting stuff.

Numbers eight and lower need some reworking to not be incredibly dull.

1)Hinduism events, monarch stats improvements, flavor and so flexible.
2)Reformed chinduism in christianity, but i=only three deities. Polytheism allowed :)
3)Shia - Jihad them all with all that piety. The only downside is that it's really really hard to get low piety. Basiccaly always stays on the right side of a par. But +20% morale is huge, take defensive and crush everybody. It's like Elan but less Blue.
4)Sunni - Here it is actually possible to have negative piety. At least if you are not in Indonesia :)
5)Sikh - well, it's hrd to place since I never want to convert to it. But if you somehow forget the alternative it's neat
6)Protestant - I like mappainting. Even if it's in different mapmode. This choice seems weird, but I enjoy watching how my center of reformation converts Rome and random provinces. And you know, it's 15 years faster! But sure, it's no way near Reformed in terms of joyment. Oh, sure, forgot about league wars, because I like to play republics and in the second war that Emperor never picks the right treaty. Just never. They release Ulm, Revoke three cores and take Reparations. Every time reparations. Scorched Earthing Westfalia does not help.
7)Ibadi. It's like Shia but much worse bonus. Meh. But still piety!
8)Shinto. Well I like playing Japan. Religion on it's own is hard to estimate sine it's tied to one country. Deus Vulting everyone, btw.
9)Catholic/Orthodox. New curia is abyssmall. Gor Pope once. Playing Milan with Restraint of appeals spending only 5 points obtained by an event. Come-on, pope is random, bonuses are meh. Even old one "minigame" was better.
10)Coptic even more meh like 9
11) Everybody else. :( But still, for other religions you can have a lot of stuff. Somebody suggested a reverse piety for Confucian (where you want to be in a middle), you can have different Animals worships. You can have a possibility to rectuit shamans instead of generals. And wth Buddhism you can have a huge number of things.

I never paid that much attention to religion except for a few ones:
1)Shia all the way! Those morale bonuses make you a beast
2)Hindu, and almost as cool as Shia. Great religion
3)everything else. I found them all so boring I barely even paid attention to them. Protestant wars were fun, creating an european war with the ottomans and russians included had always been my dream, but I can do that by aggresively expanding and having many allies

Anything that isn't spread all over the place is pretty fun for me, because religious CBs galore. So Coptic, Orthodox, Shia, Ibadi, Pagans (if you're being ambitious and invading overseas), etc. are all fun to play for me.

1. Shinto, painting the religion map red is fun, creating honorabru shintopope is hilarious, and it's got pretty good bonuses.

2. Protestant, INFINITE GERMAN TAX INCOME, making a stand against Austria/France/Spain doom alliance like a badass, blue Europe is second best to red Europe.

3. Hinduism, the events and deity choices really do make it stand out, probably the most well-done religion in the game, but I don't play it as often because I prefer the Europe and Far East Asia playstyles.

Difficult to rank religions independent of starts, but purely by the mechanics Reformed (with DLC), Catholic, Hinduism, Orthodox, Muslim, rest. Which bonuses you get doesn't affect funness at all. Events do, but I haven't tallied them up so I could rank the ones without unique mechanics.

1. Coptic: This is probably the most overpowered religion out there with the religious ideas. Ethiopia isn't exactly a power house, but it is an easy and safe progression to get there as long as you don't get greedy and take borders with the Mamluks early. Ethiopia events are awesome, this is a bonus for coptics +
2. Sunni easy boosts to technology bonus. It has great TotTf.
3. Shite: It's a moral power house generator, you can't go wrong with that.
4. Protestant: The bonus is great. +tax= more force limit %, and it saves on MP.
5. Ibadi: The bonus to ship moral isn't to hot, but it is rare so it will easily generate piety.
6. Catholic: It's UP and OP depending on you're luck, and amount of influence generated. TotTF keeps it going strong.
7. Reformed: It has great abilities tied into it, but I find it boring.
8. Hinduism: It's a fun mechanic, but I don't care for any of the NI's of the India nations.
9. Shinto: It's good, but not the best when it comes to boosting moral.
10. Orthodox: The mechanics need tweaked a little. It's a good bonus overall, but the events are rare.
11. Sikh: It could be fun. The ease of switching back to hinduism is a nice mechanic. I just don't like india's ni's.
12. The rest: I don't mind the small bonuses, but they are a little bland on flavor.
