Randomly generated commanders? Dying generals/admirals?

Looking over the videos and screenshots since the first dev diary, it seems every nation has a set of pre-created generals and commanders that can be used for controlling the command groups. Probably the same for admirals too. It makes me wonder, are we (and the AI) allowed to kill/sink those commanders somehow? And would the game generate random new commanders and generals with randomised names and stats/traits, to replace those generals?

Some countries only had a few generals of note. Since it seems that command groups are limited by the generals, would it not be good to have more generals depending upon the amount of territory you have?

Cuba for example needs nothing more than one or two commanders. But if it somehow manages to capture a huge amount of southern and eastern USA with help of some allies, would it not be logical that they expand their general staff to be able to create more command groups to protect and expand their new extended territory?

I hope randomly generated generals are allowed into the game. The lack of randomly generated generals (who could never be promoted) was a major downer for me in Darkest Hour and HoI3. And also, killing the commanders in some situations should be allowed.

Have the devs planned this feature?

We were told way back when the game was first announced that generically-generated generals, admirals, and ministers were likely going to feature in this game, but we haven't heard anything since. I really hope this is still planned, since it has been requested since HOI1.

Basically, it is needed for countries that either historically only had very small armed forces, or which historically lacked a significant democratic/fascist/communist movement, but which in the game can achieve large armed forces or have democratic/communist/fascist governments installed.

Germany should also have a higher death ratio for officers than other nations as well as a buff to land forces, as their officers were told to lead from the front. This allowed them to recognize the threats of the battlefield directly without having to receive and send information a kilometre away. The Wehrmacht also allowed a large degree of individuality to their soldiers, and minor officers as well as rank and file soldiers could choose their own approach to the problem to maximise enemy casualties and minimise losses. Of course the fact that officers led from the front meant they also had a higher chance to die from combat.

Here's where Podcat said that we would have some kind of generic generals:

There will be both historical and "random" generals. We are not doing division level leaders and there will be more focus on shaping and leveling the guys you have

I hope this means that there is a generic general/admiral/minister/etc. generator, and not just that Paradox will pre-set some generic generals. You should be able to expand the number of leaders you have in the game in response to in-game circumstances. If, as a historically land-locked country, you create a navy, you should have sufficient leaders to support that navy. If, as a historic sultanate (e.g., Yemen), you become a communist republic, there should be sufficient communist ministers and advisors to support this.

The only thing necessary to temper this is that the starting ability of these generic leaders should be low - you should not be able to generically generate better leaders than the historical ones you start with.
