Because we haven't had a Dev Diary on alternate starts yet. To clarify on that one point though, geography stays the same, but pretty much most other things can be changed or randomized.

Let me cut this discussion short. This is very literally why we have options for these things. If you don't like random names (I don't either), don't randomize the names. If you think randomizing the names could be cool, then go for it.
