It's not a custom nation it's a random generated nation, and this happens every time we generate a world. That's not a player's nation, he is just looking at it to see what it has. The 171 force limit at the start of the game is insane. And yes, when I generate a custom world I like a more broken world, not one where all China, most of SEA, and a good chunk of Manchuria are already united. It really makes picking a nation in that area unplayable, yet it happens about every time we play random starts. Sometimes there's 2 blobs instead of one though.

This is no pseudo-Ming though. It puts Ming to shame. It gets old seeing it. If you want it to happen on a low percent of random starts, fine, but my suggestion is to get rid of it altogether.

Edit: Just for comparison sake, their starting force limit was 171. :p

That's not a custom nation lol. I clicked on it to check it out (my actual choice for this map was OPM The Azores). This was a random generated map after making a (50 point!) custom nation in Australia, saving it before unpausing and simply choosing one of the randomly generated start positions.

We've done this tupe of game quite a few times, and there is consistently a gigantic super China unless you manually place numerous 200 point nations into the region to obstruct and compete with the territory it's given.

Something is screwy with the algorithm. That thing has 50% more development than Ming and none of Ming's special starting limitations.

when I'm playing custom games I tend to build obstructions generally, and add nations in after spawn to break up the big blobs in Russia and china regions.

But I agree. The Randomization stuff needs improvements. I'd prefer it if there were more options for random generation;
* small vs large states options (on region).
* HRE yes or no, and can change the HRE start provinces.
* religions in regions (would like option for Norse + more tengri random nations for example)
* Random province values to have an option where the development was random, but within predetermined ranges (e.g. higher in europe, lower in america etc.) similar to normal game, but with shuffled specifics.

As well as an option to make nations have the unit graphics not randomly generated, so that Europe isn't full of Japanese and Aztec castles, Muslim soldiers and Native American cities when they're all western tech.

We could break it up ourselves, but we're not even making our own custom nations. We want to generate a world, pick a country, and play as them against what the game provides. A super China does create an interesting later game challenge, but it gets old after awhile not being able to pick a nation in the area since you have to grow if you want a shot against that. I'd like to play in that area in an interesting scenario.

A good example of an interesting scenario is what random world generation does to the Russian region. There's almost always an interesting mix of mid sized nations up there that are similar to why I like Russia in CK2. The Middle East is also usually interesting since it almost always has a fair amount of good sized countries for the early game.
