This is a problem that I have had for years and made many a thread about before, though I never found a satisfactory answer (when people could be bothered to respond at all). The problem hasn't been enough to make me give up playing Paradox games, but it is a massive flaw, and I haven't found any information on the Internet applicable to my situation.
EVERY Paradox Interactive game that I own (CK2, EU4, V2) has random crashes. I say random because they are; on some days I could run a game for an hour and use my computer as a heater and it'll work, while other times it gives out in the first minute. They don't (with the exception of EU4, which likes to crash at the start of the month) seem to follow any pattern in regards to what triggers them. It happens regardless of if I use mods and regardless of if they are Steam or Amazon (in the case of V2). Reinstalling has done nothing to help any of the games.
I have confirmed that my Toshiba Satellite L755 laptop meets at least minimum requirements for every game. It runs Tropico 4, which is far more spec-intensive, without any flaws. Also, I use Windows 7 as my operating system.
The crashes are almost always to the desktop and say "[insert program name] has stopped working".
