I'm all for making Peace Negotiations as dynamic as possible, and here are a couple of things I'd love to see:

1) Force the removal of an embargo against me, or any of my allies (if it's serious enough to give us a CB when it is put in place, then it should be serious enough that I can force its removal later)

2) Demand that a losing nation release its vassal(s).

3) Disarmament - *very* historic option that would require a losing AI to not rise above fielding X% of their total supportable troops (of course, to prevent this from being exploited, anyone who attacked such a hobbled nation should get an extreme bb hit).

4) Tech Share - True, you get a "neighbor bonus" when you research if you are behind, but wouldn't it be cool if you could agree to "share research" resulting in a higher per-month bonus for you if you are behind in tech in a certain tree? Would provide a mechanism to foster lasting alliances besides having someone to watch your back. Would also (potentially) add value to vassals, especially for majors in slower tech groups with Latin minors as vassals.

Just some random ideas bouncing 'round in my head this morning....thought I'd put 'em out there....:)

IIRC, if you force a peace on someone embargoing you, the embargo is automatically removed. I'm not sure what happens if you lose the war, though (I've never been foolish enough to do that :D).

Well....you can *kinda* tell them to stop picking on another nation (guarantee independence), but as to the embargo....I'm thinking that it should not just automatically go away, but be a formal line item of the peace process, *especially* since it is often the "hook" used to go to war in the first place.

Since it is why you got the CB, and it is automatic why have it as an item on the peace plan?

The disarm option sounds really intriguing. There are several possible ways to implement this like reducing their support limit until resumption of hostilities with the previous victor or something like that. Many other ideas, too lazy to list them all. :D And of course immediately losing half of all troops the moment you accept the peace offer.

Castellon.....I would say mostly because then the terms of the embargo's removal are directly tied to the peace treaty itself (that is, they would not be able to slap a new embargo on you the day after the treaty is signed). I'm not 100% sure on this, but as it stands now, I do not believe there is anything preventing say....Portugal, from hitting me with an embargo, I go bust their chops for it, make peace, and the very next time I send merchants to Tago, they hit me with another embargo.

If it were formally tied to the peace process, they couldn't for the five year minimum terms of the peace.

I too would be quite interested in a Disarmenant idea. It would make Mp a REALLY interesting place, maybe even a Demand Disarmenant option on the regular diplomacy screen. :)

Why is this "very historic"? I can't recall a single instance of such a restriction imposed on a state prior to Tilsit in 1807.

yes i agree about dissarmament and also when i first saw "share discoveries" I thought it meant what you have discovered ie gunpowder, or other techs so i'd like a ask for tech diplomacy option or share tech

velo - if its cancelled automatically (and i think it is) they cant renew it until the truce expires anyway: you cannot embargo a country when you have a truce with them.

What about an option that you demand the loser release an annexed state as an independent nation? I get a CB when someone gets annexed, but I can't free them by declaring war unless I go to war with their conquerer, take over the conquered nation's provinces, seize them, and release them as a vassal myself...taking a BB hit in the process if those provinces aren't core for me...it would be far easier if say, France annexed my pal Luxembourgh, I wreck France in a war, and demand they release Luxembourgh as conditions for peace.
