Overall, cool(btw, there weren't ever any Parsi rulers, were there?)
By the same logic, Paradox won't force you to buy it, so you have no right to complain. Why are people such idiots? First of all, Paradox won't be giving this DLC away for free, so people have the right to complain.
The flaw with assumptions, is that they're based on nothing but assumption. And, by my assumptions, over 2/3 of people don't play Muslims because of decadence.

Not sure if they'd be playable but the city of Sanjan in Gujarat and it's immediate surroundings where as I recall ruled by Parsis for most of the period covered by CK2.

China would be impossible to represent in CK2's feudal system with any degree of realism, so I hope they stop at India. If any more map expansions are planned, the Sahara had some settlements they could look into. This adds hope that China might make it in a year or two. Maybe the third wave of DLC? Since this is the second?
You don't need Steam to launch the game, so just back it up separately and you'll never have to patch. Wanting the other features/fixes of the patch, however, is a different story. As explained earlier (haven't you read the posts on earlier pages?), India is likely to be added in the patch accompanying the expansion. This patch is forced to you by Steam even if you don't purchase the expansion. A valid reason to complain, I reckon.
Plus, how are boats going to get from (say) North Africa to India without expanding south through all of Africa?

Not being a chronic whiner, but this was not what I was hoping for. I'll PROBABLY wind up buying it, probably even pre-ordering it, because my love for Paradox knows no bounds, but I was really hoping or some fleshing out of the map we CURRENTLY have. That's just me.

Maybe you should take up that issue with Steam and its seemingly endless legions of fans.
The simplist method would indicate that they don't. Circumnavigation of Africa did not happen during this time period, the Mediterranean and Indian Ocean were effectively independent.
