India?
Wow. That's the best news I've read all day. Man, I love you, Paradox.

I'm aware of that and mentioned it.
In fact it goes deeper than learning history of where your from. Although 99% of all countries enforce the teaching of their own histories as mandatory modules, most non-Europeans are still kinda of coerced into being more concerned with what happened in Europe and American than their own countries in alot of instances.
Like I said, I am aware of that fact.
Or maybe they don't see them as serious issues and enjoy playing republics and Muslims. Lack of complaint =/= lack of players.
I'm going to have to agree with this, and also add that a B.A., while impressive!, doesn't mean universal knowledge, etc.
To expand on his point, you really don't learn all that much outside of Europe/America unless you specialize in that topic, which usually doesn't happen at that level.
I was pissed off when I found out my AP World History wouldn't include learning about the Celts. (My favorite culture to learn about.)
For the Record I am an American and I find History after about 1650ish to be boring as hell. (With the exception of Napoleon and the American Civil War.)
Anyone else having fun refreshing the forum to see how long it takes this thread to get a new page?
Yeah, but that all cuts into EUIV ... doesn't it? Mughals and all?Islam didn't just stop at Panjab, Muslim rule in India under the Delhi Sultanate swept far into the south of the subcontinent. So yes, there was massive conquest historically.
The lack of rectification on the decadence system while willy nilly throwing in 9th century pagans speaks to, I'm apprehensive to suggest, a money move rather than a game improving calculation. Less invested players like the flashy things and more content can ask for bigger prices. Fixing the non-core ain't as prioritized. Now, look ... I've read every patch notes and played every dlc extensively. I get that PDS are always improving. But how long did it take to even address (even if not really do full justice) papal mechanics? In the meantime we got invading Aztecs and vikings, as well as republics and a couple mechanics to restore Rome. Not all that's bad, but the development process is something funky.
I love history and know next to nothing about Indian history or realy any Asian history, so this DLC is exciting me because it's an opportunity to start getting an idea of it.
I don't need to read what I already know. Perhaps you should Google "tellin' it like it is" instead before you post.Trolling, again. Here, read something about logical fallacies, before you post: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argumentum_ad_personam
Unacceptable? Ha! He already yielded the argument; he merely pointed out what you presented yourself to be.Long story short: it's irrelevant if a personal attack is true or not. It's still unacceptable.
I do share your concern about those poor neglected non-Christians, but you chose a poor example. Surely you've noticed how long and often people have complained about Decadence; the complaints only ceased once Johan said they were working on fixing it.About 33% of the map is Muslim. Where's the decadence rework? But, one might say that this is exactly my point: this is the fate that will befall india: it will become unimportant. It will become "those other, non-Christian factions".
My studies of the history of the Soviet Union and the Presidency of Richard Nixon beg to differ ... oh and a German Corporal called Adolf. But that's off topic .. sry!
Really? I hope this whole thing is some sort of joke?
India? Who can honestly say they have the first clue about the history of India in the CK2 time period? Hell the only things I know about India start from when the British turn up and takeover and even then its pretty sketchy.
If, this is true ... if ... were the European Kings even aware of India in real life? Did Kings of England, France Spain or even Eastern kings like Hungary or Byzantium care what was going on in India or for that matter care?
I honestly read all the pages of the posts so far and how can anyone honestly be excited for this possible turd of a DLC.
Of all the people who are 'so exited' who can honestly tell me things about Indian history without having to look them up on the web to sound smart? Who went out of there way to research Indian history ... and why?
I may sound like some sort of racist, eurocentric a'hole to some people, but I honestly have never read anything in the CK2 time period that ever referenced India ... so why is it being supposedly added to the game?
Especially considering all the things that needed improved and deepened.
Who honestly wants to play as an India and why? I appreciate that people come from India, and that it has a rich history and has contributed to the world in many ways, but that still doesn't justify this DLC, if it is fact true.
Plus, just to reiterate, how is anyone excited for this at all?
Yeah, but that all cuts into EUIV ... doesn't it? Mughals and all?
Nope, Delhi Sultanate not Mughals, under Jalal-ud-Din Khilij and Muhammad Tughlaq.Yeah, but that all cuts into EUIV ... doesn't it? Mughals and all?
/yawn
I havent skipped any expansions yet, but I might skip this one.
They are taking CK2 in a silly direction that I really dont want to see it go..... Shoulda done a Crusade DLC or something.
