I'm aware of that and mentioned it.

In fact it goes deeper than learning history of where your from. Although 99% of all countries enforce the teaching of their own histories as mandatory modules, most non-Europeans are still kinda of coerced into being more concerned with what happened in Europe and American than their own countries in alot of instances.

Like I said, I am aware of that fact.

I was pissed off when I found out my AP World History wouldn't include learning about the Celts. (My favorite culture to learn about.)

For the Record I am an American and I find History after about 1650ish to be boring as hell. (With the exception of Napoleon and the American Civil War.)

Or maybe they don't see them as serious issues and enjoy playing republics and Muslims. Lack of complaint =/= lack of players.

The lack of rectification on the decadence system while willy nilly throwing in 9th century pagans speaks to, I'm apprehensive to suggest, a money move rather than a game improving calculation. Less invested players like the flashy things and more content can ask for bigger prices. Fixing the non-core ain't as prioritized. Now, look ... I've read every patch notes and played every dlc extensively. I get that PDS are always improving. But how long did it take to even address (even if not really do full justice) papal mechanics? In the meantime we got invading Aztecs and vikings, as well as republics and a couple mechanics to restore Rome. Not all that's bad, but the development process is something funky.

I'm going to have to agree with this, and also add that a B.A., while impressive!, doesn't mean universal knowledge, etc.

To expand on his point, you really don't learn all that much outside of Europe/America unless you specialize in that topic, which usually doesn't happen at that level.

I love history and know next to nothing about Indian history or realy any Asian history, so this DLC is exciting me because it's an opportunity to start getting an idea of it.

Fixing the decadence system would be a perfectly valid component of the India DLC, in my opinion.

I find it amazing how so many people can already decide if this is going to be a great DLC or a stupid one just by the title and the general topic. Yes, it's about India. You may have been waited for that or you may have hoped for something completely else. I for one will wait for some screenshots, some new features information and some dev diaries before I can get excited or disappointed by it.

Talk about timing, here I just decided that "okay, I'll do an Asian Total Conversion for CK2 and see how it goes" and then bam! Paradox announces an India DLC. This is perfect, and I for one am very interested to play in a part of the world that you never really get in games. :D
(also, it'll make it easier for that kind of my when I don't have to do the religions or the portraits  )

Day One purchase for me.

Trolling, again. Here, read something about logical fallacies, before you post: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argumentum_ad_personam
I don't need to read what I already know. Perhaps you should Google "tellin' it like it is" instead before you post.

Long story short: it's irrelevant if a personal attack is true or not. It's still unacceptable.
Unacceptable? Ha! He already yielded the argument; he merely pointed out what you presented yourself to be.

About 33% of the map is Muslim. Where's the decadence rework? But, one might say that this is exactly my point: this is the fate that will befall india: it will become unimportant. It will become "those other, non-Christian factions".
I do share your concern about those poor neglected non-Christians, but you chose a poor example. Surely you've noticed how long and often people have complained about Decadence; the complaints only ceased once Johan said they were working on fixing it.

Really? I hope this whole thing is some sort of joke?

India? Who can honestly say they have the first clue about the history of India in the CK2 time period? Hell the only things I know about India start from when the British turn up and takeover and even then its pretty sketchy.

If, this is true ... if ... were the European Kings even aware of India in real life? Did Kings of England, France Spain or even Eastern kings like Hungary or Byzantium care what was going on in India or for that matter care?

I honestly read all the pages of the posts so far and how can anyone honestly be excited for this possible turd of a DLC.

Of all the people who are 'so exited' who can honestly tell me things about Indian history without having to look them up on the web to sound smart? Who went out of there way to research Indian history ... and why?

I may sound like some sort of racist, eurocentric a'hole to some people, but I honestly have never read anything in the CK2 time period that ever referenced India ... so why is it being supposedly added to the game?

Especially considering all the things that needed improved and deepened.

Who honestly wants to play as an India and why? I appreciate that people come from India, and that it has a rich history and has contributed to the world in many ways, but that still doesn't justify this DLC, if it is fact true.

Plus, just to reiterate, how is anyone excited for this at all?

i'm excited about indian dlc. i read a lot of indian history.i admit it was frustrating before like 5-6 years back.there was hardly any info on indian history and my school books never did justice to indian history they only focused on boring parts(in my opinion) like art, temples, culture.trust me in teens you really dont want to learn all this stuff rather then the cool warfare and political part.i would read translations of megatsthes (a Seleucid ambassador) on india and all of alexanders indian battles.but now things are different a lot of indians who are using the internet and are covering facts and researching,so now more information is coming out.there are these books by romilia thapar (historian) which help.you can read much more about indian history now then before.

During the medieval times there were religions like Buddhism,Jainism and Hinduism.each king would support each religion and heterodox sects they run in hundreds.Hinduism started to decline during 500 BCs i think.then buddhisim and jainsim gained popularity as they provided an alternative for lower caste people to go higher up in the society and there teachings were in local languages like prakrit against the court language sanskrit used by hindus.the hindu brahmins(religious heads) reformed hindusim during the medieval times.

hindusim was refined to gain acceptibility as there were different Hinduism sects like cathars.

to stop these sects the religious authority of hinduisim incoprated them in hinduisim

an example
lets say a person says this god is more important then the other and people start worshiping this god .the religious heads realized that they are losing followers so what did they do?
make this god a reincarnation of our primary god (vishnu's avatars) to get followers back .im giving a basic example, there would 've been a lot of complicated factors.

other things like each king building a huge temple to gain legitimacy and supporting one religion over the other.one language over other etc.

but one interesting place during medieval times is kannuj

call it something like romance of three kingdoms
three empires fought for this place
1. Gujar-prathiaras( sort of like mongols and stories of their origin remain a mystery, with historians saying probably central asia)
2. pala empire (buddhists)
3. rashtrakutas (hinduisim and jainism)

interaction with india and europe could be possible.the romans traded with indians and its backed historical evidence like romans documenting it and roman coins found in india.

Yeah, but that all cuts into EUIV ... doesn't it? Mughals and all?
Nope, Delhi Sultanate not Mughals, under Jalal-ud-Din Khilij and Muhammad Tughlaq.

Mughals were just repeating the same thing that people from the Afghanistan/Bactria region had been doing since before recorded history.

I havent skipped any expansions yet, but I might skip this one.

They are taking CK2 in a silly direction that I really dont want to see it go..... Shoulda done a Crusade DLC or something.

I believe that they are going to put in the new map in a free patch, so even if you don't want India and more Central Asia, you're going to get it regardless.
