Aren't they great? Why go to all that trouble meddling in foreign affairs and having all that fiddly effort fighting off the Mexicos when you can just leave them alone and build thousands of miles of railways? I love building railways. I think in one of my first games with the real thing I'm going to play as Russia and build more railways than the mind can comprehend. Oh how I adore computer games that let you build infrastructure <3

Yeah, I colonized the NW coast, conquered all of the Manifest Destiny cores, then I said why not build a railway from New York to San Francisco? Then why not one from Austin to Chicago? And I ended up filling the country with 16% railways when the game ended

I built railroads in every state and province. Its looked......beautiful. The money really started rolling in after I got that going.

Yeah, you can really take the railroad building off of the capis hands. They can then focus on factories.

PS: What happens with a project if you complete it before the capis start building?

The capis abandon their project. If it's a one-off project (i.e. railroads).

They don't. RR increase the infrastructure, which increases the output of factories, hence the money factories make. That increases the money of capitalists.

Factories are state wide... However, I wonder if they will build railroads in a state that lacks a factory/developing factory?

RR also increases RGO output. Richers farmers etc means more demand for goods and indirectly more profit from factories.
