Should I separate my CITY FACTORIES/UNIQUE INDUSTRY separate from My Warehouses?

As I understand, I can have factories close to the city or in and around the CBD where goods can be distributed to business districts as well as local residents much more effectively.

I have seen guides discussing this. My following questions relate to the Cargo Train Station I have seen in these CBD factory districts. (Or whatever you call them)

Do I link my CBD Factories to my Industry ONLY and NOT to outside connections?
When linking Industry to the CBD Factories – Should I use separate lines from each type of industry and run them into their own dedicated station at the CBD Factory Receiving End?

________________________________

ANOTHER CONCERN I have is should I separate or have a dedicated area for my Warehouses?
I have seen dedicated Warehouse Layouts on YouTube that only have warehouses and No Factory’s

If I go down this path … Is it correct to think that I do NOT NEED cargo train link or station in these areas?

I did my head in spending all day yesterday reading up on industry. I have the Industry dlc. My issue is I never understood the generic side and or paid enough attention. Now I want to know it all. : )

Working out how to get the best out of both Vanilla Specialisations and the Industry dlc is no easy task.

I will setup some of the dlc as you suggest and start observing more the routes with respect to the comings and goings of all trucks.

The different guides on supply chains and how that works has been helpful.

Somehow I don't think you get as much control with the general zoning specializations. Should I now avoid using the general way of doing things because I have the industry dlc? OR is there some kind of advantage if one knows how to use both?

WIKI → CBD A term I have pretty much used all my life when referring to Down Town - City Center ... Wiki Sums it up quite well:

"A central business district (CBD) is the commercial and business center of a city. In larger cities, it is often synonymous with the city's "financial district". Geographically, it often coincides with the "city centre" or "downtown", but the two concepts are separate: .....

Just to let you know I've enjoyed using knockoutcbd.com products so much. During this lockdown, it helped me ease stress and anxiety and made me so much happier. I first bought the low dose one and used about 5/7 drops a day and lasted so long about a month so well worth the money. I am trying the next one up now and see how it goes. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

That supply chain post really over complicates the matter and seems unlikely to lead to anything but a dead end town with massive rail and traffic jams. Notice how small the population is in the demonstration post.

Destroys the credibility of the advice a bit when it's not shown as scaling up.

Your factories can be almost anywhere on the map so long as your industry areas can ship to them.
Warehouses don't seem to improve delivery times, and distant factories always seem to carry some resupply lag.

Specialized district industry of oil type should be zoned near the Oil Industry DLC area in order to absorb the DLC materials that aren't bought by factories or exported. Zoned district industry will absorb the extracted materials of Industry DLC areas.

You can use this effect to solve a 'not enough buyers' problem if you don't want to downsize your DLC industry zone.

Study this supply line convergence yard to see how to get your trains converted to cars effectively:

The good news overall is that you can successfully deploy every DLC, and every unique factory at once in a single map and see it all run harmoniously wthin the city and the outside connections.

You'll need to strictly control pathfinding for train tracks and distribution points, and manage imports/export allowances at hubs you place.

But the un-modded game allows for immense creativity despite many users believing mods are required.
