Consider - when playing a Natives tribe, and you click the Natives pop-up, with "Advancements" on the left side, and in the 3rd/Military section, there is the Upgrade for "Raid Warfare" that adds 1x Shock to your military commanders.

However, I've done this twice now, upgraded it - and my native commanders don't show an immediate upgrade on their stats. Even if this technically plays out in a battle, this should be reflected on the commander's profile in his stats. Additionally, by appearances, this Advancement for an Idea - is not effective immediately, but this shouldn't be something only for a new commander to be born into, given that it's an Idea and Advancement, after all, so it's a learned thing.

Just think this needs a look and tweak - something's not quite right in the game for Raid Warfare upgrade in Natives.

This is WAI. Commander pip upgrades take effect when rolling new commanders; they do not effect commanders you already have. The next time you get a general it will have 1 more shock pip than it otherwise would have.

Why would that be WAI when it's an Advancement of the entire society, which includes their Generals? It's not a genetic tweak to insert in gestation that results in a human baby with a tweaked DNA string. It's a learned thing, just like anyone learns in school, to include Military School. This happens all the time in military schools, so it seems there may be a tech/code reason that it doesn't take effect immediately. I don't count this as WAI, from a logic/design perspective.

It’s how every commander pip upgrade in the game works. Wether or not that’s how it should work is outside the scope of my response.

They're the old guard trained in the old ways, so unless you drill them they won't learn it.

Or just it's complicated to figure out how to code it to add that to all currently spawned characters. As Ottomans you can keep heir generals if you replace heir via event
