I just noticed that in my Broken Shackles campaign one of the random species is a Lithoid species with the radioactive trait. Shouldn't this trait be exclusive for plantoids and fungoids? I know that you can add it to any species by taking the genetics tradition tree but i didn't know species could spawn like this. Is it a bug or WAD?

Lithoids got access to a few Plantoid traits a while ago, specifically Phototrophic, Radiotrophic, and Budding (renamed Cyrstallising).

It was added a bit before First Contact, and it's actually pretty good for them. While the base value upkeep is the same, it's much, much easier to scale up energy than minerals, and minerals are such an early-game resource choke that anything decreasing it is generally good for lithoids.

It actually works pretty well in a Lithoid Thrifty/trade build as well as the trade build further bypasses the early mineral soft-cap and chokepoints with TV conversion.
