The strains of music drift over the airwaves

Guten Morgen Deutschland! This is Radio Freies Berlin, broadcasting direct to Occupied Europa from our Paris Studio. Last week, on May the 24th, The Imperialist aggression against the French Minority in Romandy Province sparked the civil request by the Comite de Salut Public for the desertion of the region by the Swiss Government. They refused, and declared war against the Federation des Communes, with the support of the German and Austrian Empires. The Socialist Republic of Italy joined the fight on the side of the Workers Internationale in order to prosecute the struggle against the oppressors of the Workers and Tradesmen of the world! The 30th of May saw L'Armée Populaire de la Commune de France advancing through Flanders-Wallonia, liberating the people of Belgium from their oppressors, as well as the founding of Station Radio Freies Berlin. The sounds of a jaunty jig drift over the airwaves

Guten Morgen Deutschland! This is Radio Freies Berlin, broadcasting direct to Occupied Europa from our Paris Studio. Last week, on June the 2nd , Our syndicalist comrades in the British Union and the Federacion Anarquista Iberica joined the Workers Internationale in it's defence of the free peoples of the world from the imperialist aggression of the German and Austrian Empires, as well as their Capitalist lackeys, the Swiss. The front remains stable, with our armies having made consistent gains against the German lines throughout the week.

Radio Freies Berlin would like to take a moment to wish those troops from our allies who are travelling to the frontlines the best of luck in the face of enemy aggression. The people of Occupied Europa will be grateful for the timely intervention of you and your companions in this war.

However, not all news is good! As of today, the alliance of the Entente, has declared war on the Union of Britain and by extension the Workers Internationale! We here are Radio Freies Berlin decry this act of opportunism by the Colonialist Empire, and promise them that Syndicalists will bury them!

With the entry of the Canadian Alliance into the war, we are truly witnessing the zweites weltkrieg. However high level sources in L'Armee Populaire have dismissed fears of anything less than decisive syndicalist victory over the oppression of the Empires of the World by the Internationale! It's an old song, it was just the only recording I could find of it, so yes the music around the words is very modern, but the song is early 50's late 40's

This AAR has been excellent so far. These radio style updates remind me of Democracy's Last Legs but these actually feel more like radio reports.

I'd like to thank you all for your support by the way. I intend to keep the updates pretty much textual with sounds in links so as to make the thread seem like a set of reports from various radio stations. The cinefilm newsreel and the advent of television will lead to an increasing density of pictures as the war goes on, with radio and televisual updates happening after the liberation of the German Union.

Guten Morgen Deutschland! This is Radio Freies Berlin, broadcasting direct to Occupied Europa from our Paris Studio. Forces of L'Armee Populaire were celebrating the success of our honest troops as the Oppressors of the Alsace were forced to retreat from their stolen territories, with both Metz and Strasbourg being reclaimed by the 5eme and 18eme Corps respectively. Elsewhere along the front the situation is the same, though it is expected that the area around Mulhouse will fall after Swiss divisions rushed to fill the gap formed by the collapse of the German lines there.

The Comite de Usines de la France reported to the Comite de Salut Public that the current production quotas for the second quarter were on course to be fulfilled thanks to the efforts of the Syndicats Industriels. With the current progress of the War it is felt that the Austro-German Alliance will be removed from their corrupt thrones within the next three years.

In other news, Bourges Festival and internationally acclaimed artist, Pablo Picasso has recently produced an artwork called 'The Horror of War' in the modernist Cubist style, to much critical acclaim. Guten Morgen Deutschland! This is Radio Freies Berlin, broadcasting direct to Occupied Europa from our Paris Studio. The progress of L'Armee Populaire continues unabated, with the Imperialist lines at Mulhouse broken through the timely arrival of the 21eme corps. The infamous 'Ghost' Division is under the command of General Makhno, whose fearsome speed and wiliness have outfoxed the Imperialists and their lead footed armies. Progress to liberate Brussels from the monarchic regime continued appace, with significant maneouvres of the armies in the region in order to *click*

The radio was turned off as Pierre looked to Jean-Claude for a long moment, the tiredness on both their faces was obvious. “Manoeuvres, we've bloody lost Namur! How the little parrot squawks.”
“Ah Pierre, he is meant to keep our spirits up. I'm glad about Makhno. With the capture of Mulhouse by the Armoured Division we've finally gained Alsace.”
“They don't say anything about the poor sods in the infantry like us..”
“The war machine is propaganda Pierre, and one day, there be no need for any of it any more, because war will be the past, and people will live in peace. Now turn the radio back on, I like the German, he cheers me up, and the Commissar likes him too.”

Hi, glad you're enjoying this.

1) The government will be referred to, but I'll not go into vast detail, I feel it would be maid and butler dialogue (that is, something that all the characters know.) This means that yes, you will be a little in the dark, but it's okay, the french aren't our main protagonists. ^^

2) The poster is a rebadged Radio Moscow QSL card from the 80's
