Hi,

could someone explain me how they really work?
are the ones on the targetted province the only useful ones when under attack? what about the ones along the path to the targetted province? do they "work" (help on detecting enemy bombers AND help firing against them?

Thanks!!

radar does a bunch of things:

it reduces the combat efficency of hostile aircrafts
# Combat Modifier: Radar Station ( value * radar level)
-0.025

It boosts the efficency of your AA

# AA to Air bonus from radars. [AA power * (1 + Radar size * Radar Efficiency * THIS)]. 0 – no radar bonus
0.5 #0

It greatly boosts the air detection of your own aircrafts, they need to see hostile aircrafts to intercept them, so this one is really important.

# Radar bonus on detection - used to guide friendly air units on Air Superiority and Scramble missions (This * Radar level * Radar efficiency). Added to misison and friendly province bonuses (see below). Higher the better
5.0 #0.0

btw those are of cause all moddable values in the misc.txt. ;)

Thanks for the clarification! So it makes sense not only to put radar and AA in the province that I presume is going to be targetted but also in the "path" to that province...

BTW so it does nothing to help detect fleets in adjacents seazones, does it?

Well from personal experience, radars seem to increase over all organization of your aircraft (and im not talking about ORG value, but the way in many different air units fly over areas and intercept enemies).

With 3 X lvl 4 radar stations in 39-40 i can almost 100% keep Germany from being bombed with 4-6 X 4 FTR squads (where 2-3 are always replenishing STR or ORG damage).
