More raaage, less political discussions. Scratch that, no political discussions, there is an OT forum for that.
It took the Ottomans 5 times to actually conquer Tripoli. What's worse is that it had no reason to have not conquered it. No one else was fighting The Ottomans, no one intervened. Just Ottoman, Y U so stupid?
I posted this originally in the Post Empires thread but it seems more appropriate here.
They sure can be pretty slow at it, with pretty much any nation that has a coastline you can declare war on and annex Tripoli before them if you feel like it.

I decide, I'm gonna give china a try, see what there like, ok?
I had just recently played a game as Brittan to see how hard it was to conquer uncivilized and it took me less then a year to have the world attacking me to 'cut down to size' so I figure I should be ok...
I start a game as china, I get two techs researched and England decalres war on me, I figure I can handle this...
England, Portugal, France, Spain, Russia, and all of India... what kind of ****ing bullcrap is that alliance?!
Guess england gets around being 'cut down to size' by allying everyone... even though when I tried that in... every game all the major powers gave me 'impossible' as a responce, even b efore I did any warmongering

That's basically what happened in real life, i.e. the Eight-Nation Alliance.
The game is designed to make it more difficult for Human players to get alliances then the AI nations. Presumably this is to make the game more balanced so that the player will face more impressive alliances of enemies.

I can top that, they did that to me just as I was about to hit the button TO civilize, putting me in a war and making it so I couldn't.
