Actually yes i was able to get a WP the first time because of winning a battle, but in subsequent wars i was left in the awkward position of praying for british doomstacks to land to give me warscore. eventually i had to dow brazil for the sole purpose of gaining access to britain's SA territory.

Normal penalty? I have 1.4, and it doesn't show a penalty for not accepting a fair peace deal...(or maybe it's just because I play large countries that don't usually lose in wars?)

Yes they did. France didn't even call allies :/ France are on lets liberate that shit with the UK. Not sure how it will pan out though because UK has most of its armies over seas and france has most in France.
