Darn it. I thought they would take the dog for leisurely stroll.

I still build them. Have them running along the shore a lot, and other little "park" areas (that are not "Park Areas") and so on. Nobody walks on them, but it looks nice.

Sometimes you can arrange it so it is a shortcut, and they will use it.

You could put a "Walking Tour" on it. Might encourage some pedestrians to use it. I haven't tried it, but as long as there are some attractive areas along the way, they might take it.

I use them to get pedestrians across a highway or rails. It's especially useful for the latter since pedestrians can't enter the train station from the back in spite of the model's appearance, so an elevated pedestrian path allows people from the other side to reach the train station without driving around.

Yes. I was just meaning the ones in Hummer's screenshot. They run along what appears to be a river. Nobody using them because they are laid out to look nice, but are not a shortcut for cims to take, so they don't.

I use paths all over the place, and they do work to get the cims walking, if they can get somewhere they want to go on them.

Not the prettiest implementation, but here is one thing I do with highways and paths. Gets a lot of use.

So what's going on here?
I've run out of plastic. But the warehouse next door is half full. Should it be on fill instead of balanced?
I really don't want to micromanage these warehouses.

Caught the latest Biffa video today and he says that offices count towards industrial in the demand levels. Is this correct, and if so, why are offices a shade of blue and not one of yellow?

Yes.

and if so, why are offices a shade of blue and not one of yellow?

Maybe for the same reason that industry is yellow, and the RCI bar for Industry is orange. Whatever that is.

We see that numerous new players continue to be confused by this (and for good reason).
But, yes, it is true. Offices count towards the Industrial demand bar and do NOT count toward the Commercial demand bar.
If you put your mouse pointer over the demand bar, I believe it will indicate as so (give it a try).

Makes sense to me, I used to work in an office as a project technologist. I did 100% pulp and paper engineering. We were constantly updating automated systems in the mills. There are lots of office jobs like that.

:)

Doesn't quite work as flawlessly as one would hope. Balanced is still your best bet.

Avanya has a good guide:

On a separate note. That is a decent guide, thanks. I wasn't really doing anything wrong. I did expand my warehouse inventory though to help.

What’s a good mod to get rid of buildings needing a certain amount of workers/people or else they get abandoned?

Just want to play a sandboxy game where I’m able to design a city, see the people navigate it, and play with traffic/public transportation without having to worry about my buildings disappearing.

Thanks

I haven't used it, but I would guess that this would do what you want:
No Abandonment

So I have an ore truck exporting ore but it's coming from the recycling center. We can turn garbage into ore and export it? lol
What is going on here?

https://skylines.paradoxwikis.com/Garbage_disposal

Recycling Center
"Eliminates garbage and produces resources which get distributed to industrial buildings that require them."

And exported as well apparently. I guess I will add that. :)
Edit: Done.

Why do I have to log back in when I come to this site, even though I click the "Remember Me" button every time I sign in, and never sign out?

It's very annoying, and you aren't the only one.

It's not every time. But it does log you out eventually, for no reason that I can fathom.

I would have replied sooner, but I had to log back in. ;)

How much capacity does a resource carrying truck (e.g. Paper, Metal, Plastics) carry?

Reason asking: Wiki
"Trucks can transport 8 tons of any material at a time.
...
building consuming materials checks for importing materials once it gets 8 tons free in it's storage and again if it gets to 16 tons free."

My (unique) production factories have only 14 ton capacity making no sense. Is it different on unique factories?

edit:
im at 100% funding of industry areas and 100% production rate.
