Those water pumps are draining the river dry. They are too close together. Don't you get water shortage messages?

I'd just bulldoze them and put water towers on land and see if the river fixes itself over time. The water does take a long time to smooth out completely.

Are you sure? No, water is always fine as it is now. I've had more pumps than that in the past. But before the dam, I never seemed to have any issues with the river. Perhaps it is seasonal as mentioned, but I never noticed the fluctuations of it before.

I once made a map where I had a river for my dam, another river for my main water supply, and a bordering sea where I pumped all my sewage.

Dams are very fun on real-world maps where the backed-up water fills out the topology something beautiful.

Is there any reason to make 1 of the 4 specific industries instead of generic? I find that the oil and ore just runs out quite quickly and I end up changing the district back to generic afterwards anyway. Is there any inherent or major advantages to going with a specific industry? I currently have a farm but I'm not really sure why I should have it other than just some flavor or role playing.

If you had specialized industry (non-Industries DLC), they too run out of oil and ore, and has to import as well. You can still run both types on imports if you want.

I build farm and forestry, as they don't run out, but usually don't bother with the other two as dealing with the resource depletion is not at all enjoyable for me.

The main reason (aside from if you like to do it) is reducing truck traffic from imports. Generic industry must import their raw materials unless you make it in your city.

There's an unlimited oil and ore mod built into the game.

Also, the Extra Landscaping Tools mod allows you to create your own custom oil, ore, and farming zones. Forestry can be created by yourself by plopping a lot of trees in a small area.

Enabling mods (even built-in ones) will disable achievement, if that is important to you. Also, there is an achievement enabler mod to allow achievement progression with mods enabled.

I guess I'm baffled on why you thought it was funny. Seems logical in all senses to me. I thought I was just misunderstanding something, or you were referring to something else from above.

What is going on here? I can't seem to attract anyone to my wildlife preserve. I have 0 visitors. Yes it is connected by road, power and water. I have a zoo in the background that's almost at level 5. I used the policies that increase visitors but still no one.

How do I get people to walk on these paths? They are connected to the roads. Do I have the correct roads that allow pedestrians?

They need to go between two places that pedestrians want to go, and generally speaking they should be the shortest route.
