A few questions about Charlie:

1) How does one change from the Carolingian empire into the Holy Roman Empire?

2) How can I vassalize the Pope (Chalcedonian)?

3) Is it better to appoint the Patriarch Supreme or just wait for the Schism to fire up? As in how many holy orders can it get and how are the mechanics otherwise. From what I looked at the files it doesn't get the Curia which makes for generally weaker Patriarchs and cuts out that small diversion.

How does one change from the Carolingian empire into the Holy Roman Empire?

If the Carolingian Empire has been formed, it needs to collapse via event before the HRE can be formed. Once that happens, anyone who isn't the former Carolingian emperor can ask the Pope to name him Kaiser of the HRE, assuming they meet the following conditions:
-is Chalcedonian, Catholic, or Fraticelli
-isn't a heretic
-neither Francia nor the Roman Empire exists
-not already an emperor
-has 1,000 Prestige
-has a realm size of at least 180
-is the king of Germany
-is the king of one of the following:
>Lotharingia
>Italy
>Frisia
>Burgundy
-can pay a certain amount of gold, adjusted based on your annual income
The Pope is more likely to accept the request if he likes you (bonus at opinion level 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100), if you're Zealous, if you're a Crusader, and if you have high Piety (bonus at 400, 600, 800, and 1000). He's less likely to accept you if he doesn't like you (penalties at opinion level 0, -20, -40, -60, -80, and -100), if you're a Lunatic and/or Possessed, if you're a Kinslayer, and if you're Cynical.

How the Carolingian Empire collapses via events is as follows: when Crown Authority isn't at least Mid, every time a new Emperor is crowned some vassals may decide to leave the Empire. If the empire shrinks to fewer than 100 Counties, the Empire is dissolved.

Yes, as mentioned the Carolingian Empire isn't designed to "turn into" the HRE. That's not a thing. If the Carolingian Empire is doing well, it stays as that, and the events that help it collapse can be avoided if you raise CA. If you really must be the HRE, you're going to have to let it collapse, as described.

Ok, I'll look into it.

P.S. Checksum?
P.S. Screenshot title history?

The Popes of the Papal Estates have no number attached to the names of even those previous to the Charlemagne startdate, despite at least five Stephenus, three Gregorys, two Benedictus and Urbanus, amongst others. The Patriarchate of Constantinople is giving numbers to their own Patriarchs without a problem it seems (since I started the game, haven't seen a Patriarch over thater whose name would require a number, but the pre-start ones are numbered). The Patriarchates of Antioch and Jerusalem are way too young in my game and haven't seen two leaders with the same name, so I haven't posted an image of either.

P.s.: If I may ask, they seem to be choosing for themselves Stephenus after the game starts and to have prefered Stephanus in the pre-startdate historical files. This time based distinction is a coincidence and both names cohexisted or one of them is a typo in either the names list or historical file?

P.s.2: In the Patriarchate of Constantinople, there's a little issue with the historical Pauls. Pre-stardate there's a Paul (ID: 70592) and Paulos I and II (ID's: 70574 and 70567). The Latin named ones don't take into acount the one named in English to number themselves, and given the other Patriarchs of Constantinople seem to choose Greek names, maybe the three of them could be renamed in Greek to avoid any future Pavlos IV becaming an Pavlos no-number ingame. Am I dead wrong here? If I am, I'm really sorry for wasting your time, but if I'm not, there's also a Patriartch Alexander (ID: 70593) who I supose, maybe perhaps could be an Alexandros for the same reason.

Thanks, Rylock and I looked into it, and my conclusion is that I have no idea why this is happening...

My best guess is that chalcedonian papal state is neither a religion head title, nor a patriarchy title, and that causes something to go stupidly wrong.
I'm saving your last post, maybe I can think of a solution at a later time.

Ok, that kinda sucks.

What about the Chalcedonian stuff?

Yes.... and? You have to push the claim and get yourself excommunicated. If he can excommunicate.

Another way is to fabricate claim, until you get all the land. Then another patriarch of rome will be appointed, who will be you vassal. Just don't use the "restore papacy in rome " decision, that would make him independent again.

1) how do i get rid of the feature where tribal holdings must be upgraded all the way to turn them into castles, its really is a slog when i go north korea mode and i have to do all that stuff manually and i cant find an autobuild mod for this version of the mod. is there some file detail i have to delete?

2) is there going to be a feudalize tribes option for this mode like HIP since i really enjoy there for custom map purposes.

3) i don't know if this has been asked before but is there going to be any opportunities to reform some of those placeholder religions like canaanite or berber pagans since i really think those religions would be awesome to play as for roleplay games. not to mention that i can get out of gavelking easier since i have done this game for so long that i find reformation easier than gavelkind and culture tech faffing.

Are there anymore culture flips besides Norse-Saxon?Anglo-Norse? Or is there some sort of system in place for that to happen with all cultures? Im just wondering because im playing Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and im somewhat frustrated that the only way i can keep Lithuanian culture alive as a pole is assigning a bunch of angry Lithuanian lords to Lithuanian culture provinces.

I have a problem with checksum. I'm receiving HLMH withoud India and incorrect sum with India as well.
1. My game is 2.5.2 with YZAZ
2. Mod version is 4.04.6. I tested rar archive after download to be sure it's intact.

I see CK2 logo on the start, so mod seems to be applied. Any suggestions?
