I have a question about imperial coronation. First I had - 50 with the ecu patriarch and he denied the coronation then after two civil wars he was at +79 and I tried it again and he refused again ??? Why ?

And if he refuses can I try it again or am I screwed ?

There are a number of factors which go into the Ecumenical Patriarch agreeing to the coronation -- opinion is a big part of it, but not the only one, and ultimately there's always a chance he'll refuse. You can try again in 10 years or depose him.

there should be a warning to start the 1000 start date with the makedons (byz). I just wasted two hours playing. the first guy has the trait celibate and the brother who later inherits married all his daughters away without having an heir and then married a woman with fertility -875. this game is an almost certain game over. Is there a way to cheat and somehow survive. I tried pollinate but I don't know if that works because konsstantin viii dies very soon?

What is the best way to lose the Zealous trait ?. When your a Hersey and want to convert to Orthodox it wont allow you to convert unless you lose the Zealous trait.. So is there any fast way to lose that trait ?

Was it a deliberate choice to make the colours of the nations clash so much? That may be the only thing I dislike about CK2+, that it is not a smooth blend of colours like on the vanilla map, but instead it's a neon fest.

Yes. The stark contrasting colours are better for a number of reasons including, but not limited to, accessibility for colour blind people and being able to clearly identify borders from a distance.

I'm curious fhe other reasons too... But I suppose it's also a bit of getting used to.

How do Cadet branches work/is there a guide anywhere to them? I just had a vassal create one after having originally been part of the main line until I gave the territory to my brother 3 or 4 centuries ago.

There are two ways that someone can form a cadet dynasty:

1) By being a cadet -- a younger son in a large dynasty who is heir to no titles and is either not a close relative to the dynasty or not of the dynasty head's culture. If the cadet gains a title and has a child who can inherit his title, he may decide to form a cadet dynasty. It's not guaranteed, and the AI won't do it unless they're a legit bastard or the title they have is Duke+ and they're ambitious/proud.

2) A member of a large dynasty who becomes a king/emperor or independent duke, is ambitious, and has 1000 Prestige -- and has a possible heir -- may elect to start their own dynasty if they are not a close relative of the dynasty head (and neither were their parents) or are not of the dynasty head's culture.

This doesn't apply to Muslims, however, who will always start their own dynasty if not part of their dynasty head's realm.

There are other restrictions -- the AI won't do this in realms with some succession laws, like Tanistry or Elective Gavelkind, and won't do it if they are heir/pretender to a title held by someone of their dynasty -- but those are the most important aspects.

After continuing my Byzantine Empire game (with a few cheats to get a child) I must say the newest version greatly improves the fun level of playing the empire. Good job.
I have one question, though. I got several events for a phylia the maid or something. Sounded a bit like jean d'arc. I always supported her and made her marshall but in an event where the nobles complaint again I got four choices.1. Don't listen to the nobles, 2. She should be more humble (I think), 3. not noble enough ?! let's make her a knight, 4. imprision her.
I took the third option. After that I got no further events and then my ruler died and the maid disappeared. Is that a bug and are there more events if I would have chosen another path ?
I really like these events ! I hope we will see more of these.

Is it possible to somehow remove the automatic reversal of succession law for patricians? If so, how would I go about it, which file would I have to modify?(I'm trying to use CK+ with Seize the Republic, and it basically lets you switch to Seniority succession as a Doge, but makes you rivals with all other patricians, allows them to faction to overthrow you, etc.)
Excuse me, but could anyone please help me with this?

It would probably be in a maintenance event, but we have good reason to have that in the first place as there are bugs related to vanilla CK2 that can potentially strip said inheritance law to something invalid IIRC anyways.

Alright, I can understand that, but seeing as I'm not gonna file any bug reports anyway(seeing as I like to spice CK+ up a little), how would I go about it?I tried to remove the

hey guys! first time posting in this thread, so sorry for any mistakes or whatnot.
so is there any ways to create a theocracy? i took the county of salzburg (which is one at the start date) and made the barony the capital so i wouldnt get the penalty, but when i tried to give the county back to the bishop it said "you cannot give titles to somebody who cannot produce heirs".
so any way around that?

Hard code limitation I am pretty sure. It's a crappy worded tooltip but it's probably related to the max number of allowed theocracies in your realm.

oh, thanks man. that kinda sucks though

I should note that if it is that indeed, you can change the max percentage in defines I think, but I've never actually fiddled with that myself.
