So, couple questions regarding FTM, latest patch/hotfix.
First off, are Strategic Resources only shared with Faction Leaders/ Major countries in factions?
Secondly, what is the prerequisite for a nation being considered a Major? In a Pre-FTM game as Brazil, I conquered almost all of South America, and at some point I noticed that Brazil was suddenly considered a Major. Is it based on IC?
Another simple question: Say I have a Mountain division (3 or 4 Mtn. Bdes) and an Infantry division (3 or 4 Inf. Bdes). Would the Mountain division be any more effective in combat in say, Plains, than the Infantry division? Assume same Exp level, no leader, etc. Just base stats. Because, in my mind, a Mountain division is composed of elite troops, and would be more effective than a regular Infantry division.
Okay, yet another: Would it be beneficial to throw an Engineer brigade in my Infantry divisions? What exactly are their effects? I understand the averaging of bonuses/penalties across a division, I just am curious if an attached Engineer brigade would make a decisive difference in a defensive battle.
Anddd another: Would it be effective to create an Armoured division consisting of 1 L. Arm or 1 Arm and 2 Inf and 1 Eng? Not for use for breakthrough - Bear in mind that I have yet to touch a major nation. I am trying to learn with smaller powers, so Motorized and Mechanized are a bit out of my reach. I am just wondering if I should make pure Armoured divisions, with Engineers attached for the CA bonus, or if the above combo would be an effective force.
Other than researching Education, how else can I increase Leadership substantially? Annexing territories does not seem to add very much to my LS pool.
In a country such as Brazil, is it worth investing in Garrison brigades for my ports? I honestly have not once built a Militia, MP, or Garrison brigade in my time playing HoI3.
I apologize if any of this is too simplistic or has been answered elsewhere - I have been reading over the forums (and this thread, of course), for a couple days now, and a great deal of my questions have been answered. But I may have missed something. Apologies if I have.
Anyway,
Thanks!
Dan
