Relations factors into the probability, as does your threat, treaties, other diplo stuff, same continent is a +, land route that doesn't need convoys is a +, size of trade (bigger is better), their money pile are some of the general factors, then the country-specific routines may or may not have other modifiers. Them buying from you uses their convoys, so if they have none free it'll be impossible (although annoyingly often they'll buy and somehow end up with not enough convoys and the trade will sit there with the stop sign for a while until it cancels). The big killer is they usually won't buy something they're already selling, so if sometime in the past they sold 1 spare energy to someone they won't buy yours 'til they figure out they're short and cancel that trade, which could be awhile if they have a big stockpile.

Sometimes with no apparent change they'll be willing to buy/sell in a few days, so keep checking - they may have accumulated enough money to feel better about spending their income, etc.

They have this thread in the EU forum (EU3 QQ-QA) and I think it would be a goods idea to have one here.

I'll ask first question.

Is it possible to move spies from one nation to another?

I like this idea. I for one get tired of not the noob asking a question but the 1000+ poster who knows all responding with " READ THE STICKYS"

Most people who purchase this game want quick answers when they come across a problem. They don't have the time to read every post on this board. They have families and jobs and they want quick answers. If you dont want to constantly hear and answer the same questions over and over again then don't read or answer them, don't enter a post knowing your only there to say " READ THE STICKYS" and for sure don't respond rudely to a question asked by a "noob" with "READ THE STICKYS"

I love this idea!

The HoI3 Wiki page suggests trading excess energy to Italy, Japan, Yugoslavia, Argentina, U.S. etc. Hope that helps.

http://www.paradoxian.org/hoi3wiki/Germany_strategy_guide

Yeah, I've been working off that guide for the most part. I just have some excess energy after the initial flurry from some trades that have been cancelled on me. I was hoping to find some eager takers, but I can't move the odds from Impossible for anyone, even energy-starved/money-rich neighbors.

Edit: Thanks Gimlet - I didn't realize some of those other issues may be coming into play.

in command hierarchy if i put a commander with bonus in every hq will the units get this bonus
Yes, if I interpret you quest right.

Each HQ has a special bonus associated with it's leader skill. An army gives all units under it higher organization, depending on how high skill it's leader has. Army Groups reduces supply consumption of subordinates, how much once again depends on the skill of the leader.

Leader traits also affect subordinates, but in a different way. A divisional leader gives his full trait bonus to the division. For every step up the HQ hierarchy, the trait bonus that trickles down to the division is halved.

Check out the wiki for deeper understanding.

Something awkward just happened in my game. I'm Argentina and was fighting against Peru. Some US marines invaded a province I've recently conquered and forgot to leave some units in. The thing is I came back to re-conquer it, but I can't... I just go to it normally, as if there were no enemy units. I occupy the province but nothing happens, it doesn't change color and we're both american and argentinian units in the same province, but we're at war! Since the province is the last one I need to make them surrender I can't do anything...

I just quit the game very annoyed. I didn't save.

Yes, I'm Argentina and entered war with the US the moment I dow uruguay. the province is occupied by us marines. I try to fight them so move my troops to the province. A red arrow appears indicating attack, but no battle begins. The units just move normal as going to that province. They arrive the province and meet with the US forces, nothing happens. The province is marked like it belongs to Peru (before the invasion it was mine, only that I kept avancing and forgot to leave some divisions to protect it).

Can't solve this situation but do advise you to turn on automatic saves monthly or quarterly. They take all of 3 seconds to do.

Not sure if anybody saw my question, so I'll repeat it -- how do you set an allied objective? Must you be an alliance leader?

click at a corner and take a look at the right corner of the screen. it is also explained in the manual.

I must be blind, but could I maybe get a screenshot? I'm still not seeing it. What screen do you mean?
