I remember cases when I revoked people's last title while they where my vassals and on my dungeon. Upon revocation I stopped being their liege. I can't remember if I was able to banish them then, should I be able to?
If not what's the right order to do things so that I can banish him?
As long as they are in your dungeon still and are not landed, you can banish them. If you were to release them, then you lose the ability to banish them unless you were to imprison them again.

I just tested it again to verify, I went and imprisoned some random courtier of a random vassal, and banish is not an option. They must be in your court or your vassal before imprisonment for banish to be available, and only if they are unlanded will you get their gold. Think about it, how do you banish someone from your realm when they aren't in your realm to begin with?

Does he have to be unlanded? I might have found the Reason why he's do rich he owns 8 churches, it would take a lot of time to revoke every single one.
Imprisoning someone without Reason gives the -20 tyranny hit, doesn't it?
Someone has already replied regarding the unlanded question, he does have to be unlanded (as far as i understand all Catholic priests are, but mayors and barons are landed) and in your court and/or prison. I know that imprisoning someone without a hook or reason causes tiranny, what i was wondering was if there was other consequences for imprisoning and banishing a bishop, besides tiranny? Will the Pope get mad and excommunicate you? Or something like that?

Because if it's just tiranny, then it might be 100% worth it to imprison/banish your bishop whenever they have large amounts of gold, which of course shouldn't be intended and potentially patched out...

Has the cloud save corruption issue been patched? I only see references to it from back in September, but I also don't see any specific mention in patch notes. Wondering if it's safe to start using cloud saves for an ironman game again ahead of doing some travel.

Thanks for any info, sorry this is sort of meta for QQ/QA!

Yes they have to be unlanded and from your court for you to be able to banish them to get their gold. Banishing them when they are landed just takes their titles instead, and banish is not even available for courtiers not from your court.

Also, does this person own the 8 churches, or are they just leasing them? If they are just leasing then they are not actually landed.
so as it turns out he is leasing them.
this is the lucky guy.
he gets a whopping 80 gold a month and doesn't even use the money to upgrade his holdings.
How can I get his money?

Imprison and banish.

Do not that aside from regular Tyranny hits, I believe you lose a level of Devotion when you imprison your Realm Priest. Probably worth it for 28K, though. :)

The level of devotion lost is only if you imprison without a hook/reason right?

Yes, but the question was about revoking titles first. They'd have to start as your vassal to do that. Now, if you imprisoned them after revoking all titles, perhaps they'll be in someone else's court, but if you imprison them first, then there shouldn't be any reason you can't banish them after revoking their titles.
The moment you revoke their last title, even if they are in prison, they are no longer in your realm. They are now wanderers. Try it, you'll see. Banishment will not be available once you revoke the last title.

The really odd thing about former title holders that you imprison then revoke titles on is that they will always give you at least 100 gold ransom if they have 100 gold or more, otherwise only 10 gold max, regardless of what rank they were before.

Anyone know how to change the house on my heirs via console command/scripting (NOT an ironman playthrough)? Forgot to marry matrilineally and now all my kids have my husband's house instead of mine. I'm using a custom dynasty from the ruler creator, which I suspect makes this more difficult.

My soldiers come back when they lose the war, but it takes about 90 years for them to return and I can discharge all my soldiers except these soldiers. Also, when these soldiers are returning, the bottom right corner of the screen says there is no army to demobilize, but in fact there is. Could you reply, is this a bug? And I'm playing with the Turkish patch. The writings in the image are in Turkish

Looks like they are stuck in an infinite shattered retreat, which means you can't interact with them at all. I seem to recall somebody managing to figure out a way to fix it when it happened to them, but when I searched for previous posts about it all I found was this.

Having an imprisonment reason should protect you from Devotion loss, but I don't think having a hook makes any difference. Using a hook just increases the success chance.

Help please :D
There are no “Christian church holdings”. Only counties have religion, baronies can’t have individual religions. However, if you’re asking whether or not church holdings on the wrong religion county gives taxes and levies, yes, yes they do. The religion of the county only impacts opinion and you will receive taxes and levies long as the holder/lesser is your or your vassal’s court priest/bishop.

I believe using a hook guarantees a sucessfull imprisonment, not just increase the success chance

By the way, is the imprisoning->banishing method of getting massive amounts of gold available for all Christians faiths with a Head of Faith? Or its just Catholics? I've played on Ireland and noticed Insular Christians don't have a head of Faith so you can't trade piety for gold, but would you still be able to imprison/banish a bishop for massive amounts of gold?

I have limited experience with the religion/faith mechanics in Ck3 so far, hence why i'm asking.

It's a 30% success chance increase AFAIK.

It's for every faith that has the Spiritual doctrine that gives a Realm Priest. The reason is that this Realm Priest gets all the income (minus any taxes) from temple holdings in your domain, while having little to spend on except building those holdings up, which ensures high income and low expenses over time. :)
