That's a judgment call to make. Personally I virtually never land them because of the crazy stunts they tend to get up to. In my cost-benefit analysis the benefit of retained control is greater than the cost of fewer perks.

Plus, I like to make my heir my Court Physician and Knight so he can gain Physician traits and also get trained by my Marshal. :) He can still be my Knight as a vassal but not my Court Physician.
Is it anyhow possible to gain traits like "Berserker" as a ruler? Usually knights/champions get this special trait during battles.

Not unless you can be a Knight as a vassal player, which I haven't seen.
You need to get it on your heir before they inherit.

Except for some pool generated characters you can only get it in battle. See knight_events.txt

From what I know, If you get obese. You will get the decision to lose weight. It always been like that. But this time I don't have the option to lose weight. Is this a bug?

Commanders of armies count as knights in the battle for some events - I've gotten berserker on my player character while commanding armies.
Really? knights.0001 is called by on_knight_combat_pulse:

Code:
# Called for knights in combat every COMBAT_EVENT_DAYS days
# root is the knight
# scope:combat_side is the side of combat the knight is on
# CHARACTER is the LHS portrait, TARGET_CHARACTER is the RHS portrait

on_knight_combat_pulse = {
    events = {
        knights.0001 # Knight wounded/maimed/slain in combat.
    }
}

But this seems to be called by internal code and I don't know how the list of knights is generated.

Players can never be knights. There is a check in the can_be_knight_trigger which checks for:

Code:
	is_ai = yes

As @Anthalas points out only knights can get the event which makes someone a Berserker (unless there's a serious bug somewhere). However, you can have your heir serve as a Knight and become a Berserker before you play as him. :)

Yeah, that happened for my heir and I got curious if it's possible for a ruler too. A pity that it doesn't work for rulers.

i had 2 female characters with the sayyida and both didn't inherit their children with the sayyid trait, despite the trait saying its inheritable, do only male characters bequeath it to their heirs?

Yes it is only males who give it to their children.

EDIT: From 00_traits.txt:

inherit_chance = 100
parent_inheritance_sex = male
inherit_from_real_father = no

If he is unlanded and you banish him you should get his gold.

You can get his gold by imprisoning him and banishing him. I've done it to a bishop who my spymaster pointed out as a non-believer, so i blackmailed him to get a hook, then imprisoning and banishing him.

What are the consequences of imprisoning and banishing a bishop if you don't have a hook on him?

What are the details on claims passing matrilineally for male-only titles?

Specifically, I had married the daughter of the King of France, and my heir gained implicit claims to the king's titles through his mother, although she herself did not have them because of the male-only gender law. I was hoping to press them and put my heir on the French throne, so when I died he would unite it with the rest of my realm. But the king died first and passed the title to his son, and now my heir's (the new king's matrilineal nephew) claims disappeared. With enough "helpful accidents," will I ever be able to get him back in the line of succession or close enough to have claims again, or will the title continue passing to more distant male-line cousins?

Does he have to be unlanded? I might have found the Reason why he's do rich he owns 8 churches, it would take a lot of time to revoke every single one.
Imprisoning someone without Reason gives the -20 tyranny hit, doesn't it?

Yes they have to be unlanded and from your court for you to be able to banish them to get their gold. Banishing them when they are landed just takes their titles instead, and banish is not even available for courtiers not from your court.

Also, does this person own the 8 churches, or are they just leasing them? If they are just leasing then they are not actually landed.

I'm not familiar with a leasing mechanic how do I spot whether or not someone is leasing?

Anyways I found him after I conquered Rome. The 3 counties in Latinum are FULL with churches and as I clicked any one of them he popped up everytime, so he's the title holder right?

I remember cases when I revoked people's last title while they where my vassals and on my dungeon. Upon revocation I stopped being their liege. I can't remember if I was able to banish them then, should I be able to?
If not what's the right order to do things so that I can banish him?
