I want to report a bug, but it's an ironman game, do you now how to get the files?
the important question is whether it's a cloud save or a local save.

I think (but not 100% sure) that's a cloud because I have only autosaves from a previous game in Document/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings III/Save games.

Started as the Duke of Bohemia. Having a nice quiet time building up my holdings. My liege, the HRE, gets attacked by a popular uprising and so I volunteer to help him smash a few peasants. While his army is fighting up north I isolate a couple of thousand peons and take them to the woodshed. "The Slaughter at Freisberg", 459 fame, 229 devotion, +50% war score, +535 contribution. This puts my man at 100% war score, so a day or two later he arrests the ringleader and peace returns to the realm.
The after action report says "Your war contribution 0 (0%), lower than the required 100, so you gain nothing". What did I miss?

I've been wondering about war contribution as well. There have been a few times I've rushed to my allies aid, taken out two armies my ally couldn't touch. Then proceeded to capture all of the enemies holdings (for the loot), then if the war was still going on I'd capture the main city and get the war to 100% in our favor. Only to see "Your war contribution 0 (0%), lower than the required 100, so you gain nothing".

And then on other times a much larger ally will call for help when I'm just starting a new game. I go in there with barely any troops, reclaim lost counties while the big armies are playing cat and mouse. And maybe capture one or two counties that are far away from the main fighting. And wind up with a decent war contribution even though I never fought a single battle.

Just to be sure : I'm gonna fight a liberty and an independance faction next generation. What's gonna be the objectives of the rebels? Should I just defend my capital or be more offensive?

I’ve found that the quick way to win any rebellion is to kill the armies. If you win a fight against a rebel army it won’t run away it will just be destroyed and when the last army is destroyed you get 100% war score. Winning without killing the armies would be quite difficult I think. I’m not sure exactly what the rebel goal is but when they take a bunch of holds and/or win battles eventually they will get to 100 war score and win.

I'm playing the Byzantine Empire, and I have too many vassals, it suggests that I should give some away to my other vassals. I go to 1 of my vassals, right-click, give vassal and then give 1 of the vassals that there are in the list to my other vassal, but nothing change, I still have the same amount of vassals. I can't give any away. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Hey @vitalstatistix,

Based on what you wrote it appears that what you missed was getting your just rewards. Hope this helps!

:p

Jokes aside, I've seen others report the same thing. It seems there is some kind of issue calculating war contribution at times. I'd make a bug report if I were you.

I have 3 quick questions.

1) When besieging an enemies capital, should they just be able to up and move it to a different city? I'm wondering if that is just an oversight in the program, doesn't seem like the enemy leader and his councilors should just be able to waltz through my troops and relocate.

2) I had a bunch of murders taking place, not the kind that happens when an enemy murders someone, but an event. At the end of the event chain my ruler discovered it was his granddaughter ....... who was 0 at the time. He confronted her and the murders stopped. So is it an oversight that someone not even 1 year old is responsible for these murders, or did I blame the wrong person? I wasn't given any legal reason to arrest her (so I didn't) and her character sheet doesn't show any indication that she is a known murderer. I did enact the "restricted measures" option at one point, so maybe that's why the murders stopped for now and she's actually innocent?
Ok, never mind on this one. After a year or two new evidence showed up. Turned out to be one of his sons, who even admitted to the murders, then fled the country.

3) When educating a child, should I have the ward be someone who has the highest learning, or the highest skills in what I want the child to learn? It seems as though the highest learning gives me the best result when I pick the child's lifestyle.

I don't think you can move your capital when at war.

For education the primary trait (diplomacy for diplomacy education etc) is twice as important as the educator's learning stat. But having quick/intelligent/genius has a much bigger impact than the individual stats.

Is it possible to become a heresiarch? By which I mean gaining the trait and triggering the follow up events that cause other characters to convert to your heresy? I figured it was just a matter of converting to an heresy/creating your own while fervor is low, but that doesn't seem to work. Or maybe around 30% wasn't low enough?

Only the AI can become a heresiarch. :( One of the lines in the is_valid_heresiarch trigger is:

Code:
    is_capable_adult_ai = yes

How to search specific characters? By name? Or even debug ID?
To search by name you can use the Character Finder. Either press 'c' or click the magnifying glass to the left of the date on the bottom of the screen. :)
