I don't think there's anything on them that can tick. Land wars will tick based on land, and Humiliate will tick on battles, but most others won't tick at all.

You can hover over the CB in the war screen and it will tell you about any ticking war score that is possible and how close it is to applying (and the strength of the effect, and increase over time, if the criteria are met).

Thanks, I'll just have to wait.

Yes, after 5 (?) battles.

They should have, AIs have zero naval attrition. If reloading your game doesn't work, you're stuck you either accept their wargoal or you get enough naval range to kill some smaller stacks.

They were fighting Mexico, which is why I picked that time to get out. Let's hope they make a move.

OK, it's over. The AI may not take naval attrition, but the brigades they sent me sure were badly banged-up, and quickly dispatched. They also came with 1/3 the USN. The battle was nail-biting and they might have won, had the admiral not made off with the transport detachment while the warships engaged mine. Though, they did have the sense to offer peace before the battle was over. I did not oblige them. Glory to the Kingsmen Empire.

Hi I'm new to this forum so I'm hoping I'm in the right place! I've got a problem with my game. The game seemed to run great, everything was smooth but as soon as I start a game it lags terribly when I scroll over any land mass. As you can imagine its kinda game breaking. I've played this game on my lap top for months but it takes like four seconds per day but it doesn't lag at all. On the flip side on my desk top the days fly by but if I go close to say Europe the game lags terribly and it can take up to five seconds for the game to respond when I try to select troops. Any tips as to what I can do to fix this?

Yes. If Bavaria is AI, all AIs in the game will fire this decision once per day, causing all non-human countries to have their prestige basically fixed to zero, and your computer to sweat.
Code:
bavaria_ai = {
        trigger = {
        bav = { ai = yes }
        }
        icon = 10
        bav = { prestige = -0.1 }
}
What about now ? It will affect only Bavaria ? And -1 might be a little too much since this is there so that Bavaria doesn`t become a GP in the early game, for late game -0.1 isn`t enough but my that time other factions with more population will have the GP spots.

P.S. -1 Prestige For Satellites like Canada will keep their prestige to 0? Since Canada is released so late I don`t think it will keep it down to 0 but it will start to lower Canada`s prestige so that they don`t break free based on prestige.Should I go for -2 or -3 for satellites to be sure?

Make sure your video card drivers are up-to-date? Also, register your game. There's a whole tech support forum to which this sort of question is better suited.

Still a performance hog and way more than -0.1 prestige per day.
Code:
bavaria_ai = {
        potential = {
                ai = yes
        }
        trigger = {
                tag = BAV
        }
        icon = 10
        prestige = -0.1
}
--
P.S. -1 Prestige For Satellites like Canada will keep their prestige to 0?
Mid term, yes. Keep in mind, that this is not a modifier, but a decision, which the AI will fire each day if available - that's -365 prestige per year.

so that they don`t break free based on prestige
From my experience, Canada/Australia ascending to GP is usually a industry/military thing caused by the UK releasing them early to free colonial power (since these provinces now got their capitals in America/Oceania, they'll get tons of immigrants).

Are you sure? I placed it in the trigered_modifier notepad just under vasal_nation trigger that inspired me to do one for Bavaria. :D
It will still apply -1 per day totalling 365 per year?

By the way this is the trigger that was in there.
Code:
vassal_nation = {
	trigger = {
		is_vassal = yes
	}
	icon = 10
	prestige = -1
I hope it`s correct.

I don`t know mate, I`ve seen them burst out due to Prestige rather than industry and military.A -2 would be far better for vassals.

Good thing you are online. :D

If I want to exchange one province with another one from another faction, via decision, can i use "secede_province" in both cases or is there a "acquire_province" for the province i`m taking ?

And if you know, when I use the population move decision, can I target an entire state where they move or I must target provinces?

I don't understand research points completely. It takes point to invest in something, but what decides how much points i get? And what does researching more points do? Do i get a permanent bonus?

I'm still noob in this game xP Sorry

Hovering over the daily research point gain will explain where it's all coming from. The big two factors will be your clergymen (up to 2% of your total population) and your literacy (though clerks will also increase this), with your +research point technologies and plurality adding multipliers to the total.

What do you mean by "researching more points"? Do you mean the technologies that give you +50% or +100% research points? They're very helpful techs, and I always take them as soon as I can.

As GC13 says, I assume you are talking about the techs in the (middle?) culture column - Philosophy; idealism, empiricism, etc - yes they do provide a permanent bonus to your research points total. I further agree with GC13 that you should aim to research these pretty much as soon as they are available to you.

I would also say that it depends on what faction you play, Prussia/Germany and Sweden don`t actually need to put a high priority on it nor ignore it.

For Austria it would be a priority given their very small literacy rate.

Do the POPs who don't get life needs starve and die or do they simply migrate away? What if my POPs aren't getting enough food resources to live on, will they die (since food is the life need) or will they migrate to the Americas/colonies next month?

I think they migrate rather than die, but either way, you don't then have them to make use of them.

Nah. Triggered modifiers are per month, my bad. The above code still works, since decisions and triggered modifiers virtually use the same syntax.

"acquire_province" for the province i`m taking ?
Nope. secede_province is the way to go, expects to be run in the owners tag context and accepts province, state and region context as arguments.

And if you know, when I use the population move decision, can I target an entire state where they move or I must target provinces?
Only province context.

I`ve red the tooltip at the start and it said it was monthly.

Ah thanks.
I kind of stumbled with that Danubian Federation decision.

Kaiserslautern ( 571 ) is a Bavarian province but in the same decision I inherit Bavaria and I want to give that province to Prussia for Sigmaringen ( 594 )

For Sigmaringen it`s NFG = { 594 = { secede_province = DNB } } but for Kaiserslautern I don`t know if it`s me as the DNB or Bavaria. I have a feeling that it`s DNB.

Only province context.
No biggie.

I wanted to move all the Germans in the colonies in Gabon so that it becomes heavily dominated by Germans so it becomes a overseas department of the German Empire, RP wise.
Buuut I remembered that the Irish famine trigger has a modifier that lowers the change of people moving to Ireland so I can make a decision that will only trigger for colonies and applies a big debuff so that the people who want to move to colonies will pick the exceptions in the list, thus allowing me to guide what colony my population chooses - Gabon and German Guinea - former French and Dutch Guinea. :D
And if I don`t give it a flag I can use trigger it as many times as I want. :D

Code:
bavaria_ai = {
        trigger = {
        bav = { ai = yes }
        }
        icon = 10
        bav = { prestige = -1 }
}

Could you tell me is this trigger for Bavaria actually works? Im my current Austrian Empire game they managed to become a Great Power again, but they fell to secondary for the moment, I will make them a vassal and the vassal prestige debuff works for sure.

Maybe even -1 per month is too little but they had more prestige then Baden or Wurttemberg, around as much as those tho put together as a matter of fact.

Many thanks.

When mobilized, are all reservist brigades always infantry only?

Is it a good idea to keep only artillery and cavalry as standing army during peacetime, and use the mobilized brigades to fill the role of infantry when a war breaks out?

How should I keep my peacetime armies? Divided into groups of brigades garrisoned here and there or massive, unified armies? Should I keep them at the border or inside the territory?

When mobilized, are all reservist brigades always infantry only?

Is it a good idea to keep only artillery and cavalry as standing army during peacetime, and use the mobilized brigades to fill the role of infantry when a war breaks out?

How should I keep my peacetime armies? Divided into groups of brigades garrisoned here and there or massive, unified armies? Should I keep them at the border or inside the territory?

There are lots of wars you don't need to moblize for. ;) That means it's best to have infantry in your standing armies. Where to keep them: just make sure it is in provinces where they'll suffer no attrition (specially in the early phases of the game).

Does anyone know more tricks to control stupid Capitalist AI? God, do I hate dumb factory spam when demand and prices for cars or rádios is astronomic... NF usually only Works well BEFORE factories are too occupied with craftsmen, destroying factories usually don´t work. They will simply build another stupid factory after you destroy them.
