Hello,

If I colonize a planet in a system that I had established a frontier outpost, is it safe to destroy that outpost without losing any territory?

I previously had colonized a system roughly the same time I had established an outpost in another system and noticed that the territory gained on the galaxy map was significantly larger for the outpost then it was for the colonized planet in another system.

Thank you!

Colonies start with pretty small influence zones so it will take a while before a colony replaces a frontier outpost in the same system.

Colonies during setup generate a sphere of influence around their star. Frontier stations is a wider bubble. So you'll want to wait until POP 1-3 on a colony before junking the frontier.

Hello,

Yes I had a leader gain a substance abuser trait on level up which reduced their life span by -10%. I wonder is all gained traits are negative?

Random, good or bad. You could probably tweak them in some file or not, which I'll probably look up later for my own use.

Is there a way to figure out what species / pop is on a colony ship?

I couldn't figure out how to do it directly, but if you select a colonizable planet in the system view and click colonize it will show you the pops you have available on colony ships.

1. When I select a colony ship from the galaxy map view I can see planet icons next to systems with colonizable planets, colored red, yellow or green depending on how good it is. Is there any way to get this view without having a colony ship? Would be nice to know if there's anything out there worth building it for in the first place.

2. How do you delete a spaceport you don't want anymore? I can't find a destroy button anywhere like I see for other platforms or orbiting facilities.

So nobody has had an answer for the way to get rid of the -20 for different war philosophy modifier yet...the best I have found is that underneath your govt, type there is a descriptor "federation founder"...etc but no way how to set yours to match another civs??? Ideas?

Usually in Paradox games with modifiers like Ck2, you don't try to get rid of these modifiers so much as compensate using positive modifiers. Unless it's a reaction to your empire policies, it's hard coded for the AI as a personality quirk.

Is there a way to determine how borders will change when ceding/taking planets?

Not a direct way. You'll have to eyeball it and guess.

I couldn't figure out how to do it directly, but if you select a colonizable planet in the system view and click colonize it will show you the pops you have available on colony ships.

Use Alt or detailed map mode to see the colored globes, then mouse over them. The AI will also trade star charts for immigration rights from my side, if they are xenophiles or pacifists or what not. You can also check for habitable planets from their starcharts using same method. While denying the AI information to your space, forcing them to scout it manually.

Question about terraforming; how should I use it? Don't waste it on world with 60% habitability and focus on the really weak ones? Can you even directly transform those to continental (like a tomb world or a desert world as an example), or is it a step-system like endless space where you need to do multiple terraforms?

Does anyone know how to deal with the scourge? Cause I am at a loss on how to fix infested planets, ground invasion is not possible and bombing them for ages on full bombing also does nothing.

How to survey the rich mining asteroids for the quest "High-value mining targets" ? I tried with a researcher pressing on the glowing "!" icon but nothing happens ? Is this a bug ?

The last info I got was that you could terraform one planet level up. So Desert to Arid. I haven't tested it on the new builds.

The ! just denotes the system you need to survey on the galaxy map. Survey those and the asteroids are in there.

I recently colonized a new world and as it was the first additional world over my core world limit I established a sector. I gave the whole thing a focus, added a Governor and so on. Now I saw that I have a malus called "inefficient empire management" on both Energy plots and on my influence (which is now stuck at zero growth). Is this something that is working as expected or am I doing something wrong because as far as I understood it Sectors should deal away with the bad effects of colonizing worlds over the limit.

There's usually a lag time before the malus hits and then another delay before it gets erased. I'm not sure what tick they are using, probably monthly.

The system is already surveyed and I even have mining stations mining the minerals so what to do now ? (I took this system from an enemy) I guess it's a bug ...

Probably a bug if it doesn't recognize it as already being surveyed. That special project should be ticking up by 1 for every system of that special type surveyed.

The planet types are in a wheel like you see when desigining a race, and each click of the terraform button can shift a planet one type along in either direction. Bear in mind that you need a fair quantity of the relevant strategic resources (varies based on which transform you're doing, but e.g. ocean transformation requires something ridiculous like 3 or 4 terraforming fluids + 1 or 2 gas) and each transform costs an extortionate amount of energy credits and takes otoh 3600 days which would be about ten years

As to when it is or isn't worth doing, I've no idea. I only tried it lategame when I was bored and thought I had more money than I could spend. Still love the idea of playing an aquatic race and peacefully taking a planet (via uplifting, vassal integration, etc) only to force the natives out by slowly flooding the entire planet :3

Hello,

I am new to these types of Games from Paradox, never played one before!

I have a few questions:

War/Destroying Empires:
I have played my second game of Stellaris (small galaxy) and i had problems with an empire, so i declared war on them:
1) Is it possible to destroy an empire completely?
2) Do i always have to declare war on them to go deeper in their territory?
2a) I don't want to wait like 10 years in game Time to declare another war on them and possibly let them recover. I chose the planets i like to have in the Peace negations/war goals and i could not choose all of them: War score = too high i think.
3) How can i occupy planets and make them finally mine once and for all?

Factions: How can i deal with them? Can't i just strike them down? Don't want to use "Bribe Leader" or "Surpress Media" to "deal" with them. Am i missing something?

I set my science ships to "assist research" on my homeworld and other advanced colonies. One must research this technology first but it gives them a use when surveying is halted.
Literally did not know this was a thing. I've had the tech (plus the advanced version), but did I bother to carefully read the description text? nooo.

Thank you very many.

This might be a dumb question but it left me totally baffled last night; how do you actually build a robot pop on your planet? I unlocked the robot tech but couldn't figure out how to build any robots on my planets. Where on the interface is the button to create a robot pop?
