Quick Questions about CoA

Hey everyone,

I have a few questions about calls to arms.

1. Can I call allies into a war if we're already fighting together in a different war? I thought CoA applied to all wars you were a war leader of, but the paradox wiki says that "would be called into multiple wars" is a -1000 modifier for the AI.
2. Let's say I declare war on a member of the HRE (making Austria, the emperor, a co-belligerent). Austria is allied with Spain; if Spain accepts the CoA from Austria, will they also bring their colonial nations into the war?

1. Not totally sure how this works but to my understanding you should be able to in that case, you only get the -1000 if you would be calling them into more than 1 war with that specific call to arms, if they are already in a war with you then it might not apply, not certain though.
2. The colonial nations will join as will any vassals

That's for offensive wars. Calling someone to arms doesn't allow you to specify against which enemy for some reason, so calling someone into an offensive war (in multiplayer for example) would lead to them getting called into all your wars.

It doesn't apply to defensive wars.

And yes, subjects will join if their overlord gets called in.
