So I am to lazy to look up a timeline and wanted to know how close we are to the clan invasion in this game. I know very little of the lore of this setting, having played 1 or 2 of the computer games as a kid but never making it very far, reading one trilogy from the perspective of the clans (I thought they were the good guys at first), and a tabletop campaign a group I was part of played years ago. All I remember from that is when I joined we switched to clan because everyone kept blowing up their mechs from heat and clan mechs had double heat sinks. The storyteller made us do our blooding and by breaking zellbrigen I assured I started with the mech I dueled in, but none of that gave me dates. I know we were building up for the invasion and I wanted to know how close my mercenary companies were to fighting off against the true born heirs of the star league.

Aside from mods, it's not coming in this game. The final (bar bug fixes) patch was released a few days ago, I'm afraid.

(I had hoped we'd get a PDX grand-strat like game where we'd get, like, several years of expansions and stuff, but that's not the way they're going, I'm afraid!)

This game is set in 3025, 25 years before the Clan invasion (and a couple of years before the Fourth Succession War). It is the same era that BattleTech started off in way back in 1985.

As other have mentioned it is possible to fight with/against Clan Mechs (not necessarily using "authentic" Clan rules) using Mods, nexusmods should probably be your first stop. And with the last 2 patches adding improved modding support for BT the prospects look bright! :)

I actually spent some of last night trying to remember the Omnimech I piloted, I think it was a Hellbringer, cause I remember I chose my mech for it's LRMs, cause I would stand on a hill in cover and just snipe my targets. Unfortunatly I did not realize Omnimechs were clan only so I can not get my favorite mech.

Also as a blooded son of Clan Jade Falcon, I am well aware of how good our cookies are, they come with double heat sinks.

Well met, my Jade Falcon Trothkin!

For me it has always been about the Mad Dog.

This doubled-down in MWO where I earned Level 20 in Community Warfare within 30-days and before anyone else (thank you LRM Mad Dog) as well as earned more than One-Billion Cbills and began to purchase the services of various competitive MWO Loyalist and Mercenary Units like 1st Jaguar Guards, 228, Antares Scorpions, and MercStar.

I split the Cbills about equally between my support for Clan Smoke Jaguar and the after some Grand Kuralti Machiavellian AWESOMENESS on the part of the Star Adder leadership, I made this happen:

CD167DD1-65FD-4506-8141-98796485EFF0.png

Ah... being able to join MWO Units and drop hundreds of thousands of Cbills into their Unit Coffers worked MIRACLES.

And of course the Mercenary Units loved it best because FINALLY they were actually working for a “highest bidder” who was PAYING THEM. : )

And that original 1B Cbills, 100% thanks to my four MWO Mad Dogs. Thank you MDD.

Typical Falcons... they heap praise their favorite OmniMechs and somehow lie to themselves about the paper-thin armor and mediocre thermal performance.

It makes one wonder what else they must lie to themselves about, quiaff?

I used to love the Timberwolf and Mad Dog back in the day, they were tied for my favorite Clan Mech...

Then MWO launched the Ebon Jaguar (Cauldron Born). After seeing Alex's work on that design, it moved to the top for me.

Sure the Timberwolf is probably better in every aspect, but I just love the EJ's look and versatility.
