Hi guys,

Maybe someone can help me with this. I really do not know how to manage which systems are within which sectors in my newest game. When I first played the game after LeGuin/Megacorp, the first colonies close to my capital automatically entered into the core sector and farther away systems would be grouped in sectors according to how close they were to each other.

In my most recent game that I started two days ago, every new system seems to get its own sector for itself, even systems which are just 2 hyperlanes away from my capital.

How can I manage which systems are within which sectors in the newest patch? -- I might be missing some new button or something.

Thanks in advance!!

It's automatically and arbitrarily created by the first planet you colonize outside existing sectors, which extends 2 jumps from the 'capital' of the sector. The first planet becomes the capital.

And no, you're not allowed to change them.

Correct, but it's been changed to 3 jumps in the 2.2.4 beta patch. :)

Thanks for the heads-ups guys. Actually, my colonies are 3 jumps away from my capital and 2 jumps from each other:

So I should be having them all in the core sector... but nope. They're all getting their own sector. Is there a bug? Even if it is 2 jumps, shouldn't they get their own same sector? (instead of one for each)

I don't understand...

3 jumps is only for the beta of 2.2.4.

In 2.2.3 its 2 jumps. So neither of those are going to be in the Capital sector.

They have properly been allocated to the same sector as each other (Elamir).

So you colonized Elamir, that's the 'capital' of the new sector, and then you colonized Fia Nita, which was 2 jumps from Elamir, and put in the Elamir sector.

It's really, really stupid and arbitrary and your sectors are 100% at the mercy of the RNG, but that's how it works right now.

I wish they would allow players to determine sectors.. But in the meantime, I use a mod that increases the Core sector to 5 jumps. It means most of my planets are in one sector until I start to really expand out.

Thanks for the info, that was pretty useful!

The colonies are two jumps from each other but they both get their own sector, they don't belong to the same one, so I guess that even if the number of jumps is 2 or fewer, there is some RNG element to it.

I wish we as players could determine how our sectors are made up (okay, within certain limitations of course). Especially now that you can release sectors as vassals, it has some real impact on games...
