PLaying in Ireland I created the Kingdom of Ireland... My king lived well into his 70's... along the way his first born son died and so my grandson became heir. Now, I am currently playing as the grandson, who is not liked by the Earls and fighting off my uncle (third son of the first king). If my current king dies or deposed, will I start playing as the uncle if he becomes king or is it game over? I assume I keep going because they are of the same bloodline, but not sure.

The game only ends if no member of your dynasty holds a count level or higher title. If your uncle takes all your holdings you will probably switch to playing as him. If he only takes some of them you may end up as vassal under him.

Well, my uncle was kicking my ass then all of a sudden the Scots appeared on the island with a huge army and just rampaged all over Ireland beating the sh*t out of everything in their path. So I gave up and started a new game. I don't quite understand how that happened, I guess they pressed a claim on my uncle and I didn't quite realize what was going on at first and got into a battle with them, even tho we were not at war.

But thanks for the replies, still trying to get the hang of this game. The armies seem a bit crazy, didn't think Scotland could conquer all of Ireland in the 12th century.

The game gives a warning (in the form of a notification at the top of the screen) if you have no heir of your dynasty. If you don't have that warning then you'll carry on playing.
