Magic potential does a couple of things, mostly for mortal races it just determines how easy it is to gain magic power.

My understanding is no. Someone can feel free to correct me though.
Yes, this is a bug which was reported multiple times and confirmed as fixed in the next release. In the meantime, there is an unofficial hotifx thread.
hey guys anyone know if theres a tutorial for installing the mod? i downloaded the file but got confused thanks :)
1. Extract the download into Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod (the mod folder should now contain the geheimnisnacht folder and the geheimnisnacht.mod file)
2. Done

Newbie question: Are all cults "evil"? Like, are these cults nescessarily aligned with chaos forces and will something bad happen to my realm? (Like heresies popping up and stuff)

Edit: To be more clear, I'm talking about the secret socities that came with M&M

It's probably been asked before but I don't really want to dig through 200+ pages to find the answer, so I'll ask.

On the most recent patch, the vast majority of the races are greyed out and unplayable, but it doesn't give me a tooltip explaining why. I can only play as humans and vampires.

I am assuming this is because I don't own Horse Lords, correct?

No, actually. The only thing that should block are, in fact, Imperial and Chaos-barbaric humans.
Either your installation is weird, you activated a fair amount of submods to block them out by accident or you found a new and exciting way to break our mod by not having HL. :D

Glad I asked, then. I'll try reinstalling and see if it is any better.

I think it works mostly like satanists in vanilla CK2, in that you can "show interest" in joining them (should you meet the requirements). Sometime later you may be made an offer that is in no way subtle. Follow the event chain to join the society.

But unlike the openly operating, legal Shallya cult, you cannot simply state that you will join and be instantly accepted.

Where do you extract it? You install it like any other mod, and enable it alongside main mod.
