Hello!

I'm new to mods and I have problems getting this one to work. I have downloaded it and placed it in a folder called 'mod' in the CKII folder in documents. When I start the game on steam and the launcher opens with geheimnisnacht there. I click the little box and starts the game.
The screen loads as CK2 normally would and once it has completed the normal CK2 game starts with no mod.
How do I solve this problem so I try your mod?

Best regards

Do you have both a folder and a .mod in your mod folder? The .mod is what tells ckii about the mod, and the folder is the actual content. If you just placed a zip file in the mod folder, or extracted only one of them, it wont work

Jesus Christ I forgot to extract the content, haha. Thank you so much!
But I am still not able to make it work. When I launch the game now, the red Paradox logo comes up, new music and warhammer pictures n' quotes go on.
I crash between loading events and flags. Any hints on a solution?
Someone told me it would help to delete the flag folder, but it didn't change anything.

Which version of Ck2 are you using? The mod is currently only compatible with Reapers Due, so you'd have to revert the Ck2-version.
Otherwise, there may be something in the download that went wrong, which means you may have to redownload and unpack anew.

No problem :), and like zealot416 said, you will have to right click the game on steam and go to properties and then betas, and set it to 2.6.3., make sure to turn off monks and mystics DLC if you have it or I think the game will crash

After reading the Wiki, I have shifted from not liking the lizardmen that much too them bascially being my favourite species. I wanted to ask if like, the Lizardmen were able to take over the world and defeat all the other races, would chaos almost dissapear from the world? From the fact that lizardmen are created for a single purpose and don't really have emotion, they seem like the least chaotic group I can think of.

When chaos first entered the world, Lizardmen were the primary and ruling race of the world. So no I don't think that would work.

Plus chaos gains power from all lifeforms. Even mindless beasts and lizardmen.

Okay I guess, but wouldn't it still be true that the lizardmen are the most resistant to chaos? I mean like I feel like that's why the old ones created them with such specific purposes and no real emotions, and with chaos, isn't it much weaker now then it was when the gates opened due to the ulthuaan Magic drain? Because I feel if the main contributors to chaos, the chaos dwarves, orcs, ratmen and humans were taken out, could chaos be weakened enough for the lizardmen to try and reseal the gates?

Also, as a related question, is technology advancing in the warhammer world? I know that they went from tribes to having basic rifles, but would they continue on to have things like tanks and airplanes? If they could advance, wouldn't that allow them to eventually genetically modify themselves to be more resistant to chaos?

They ARE resistant, but they, too, have fallen FAR from where they were way back then. They're not capable of repairing their spawning pools, so they cannot expand that far because they always depend on that if they lose guys (which they will, because the Chaos Wastes quite literally EAT them.)
Also, while it's true that the background Chaos "radiation" was reduced since then, the times of glory where stuff on a scale like this (eradicating Chaos dwarfs, the Skaven etc) was even REMOTELY possible are past, as well. I mean, looking through the lore, you always hear about the ridiculously awesome heroes of the PAST, and the current ones are mostly seen as "the best X since Y" , meaning they still fall behind in some way. And even THOSE guys merely stalled the horrors and managed a makeshift solution for that moment. probably thinking "Better that than oblivion".
Ultimately, your question is something that we have argued about a LOT of times, internally as well as on this forum, and ultimately our verdict was that even if that was in ANY way possible, the time to be able to do so has gone by and at the point that our mod starts, the best case would be Vlad/Nagash killing everyone (perhaps but the lizzies), making the world so boring Chaos leaves it to him/them. Other than that, nothing seems quite realistic. Lizardmen are lacking in unity, Slann (especially Slann, since those can't regrow) and seem too stagnant in their defending the Slann and holy sites until the aforementioned lazer-hypnotoads figure out what to do, which takes ages and mostly just screws over the OTHER good guys.

And yes, Tech is advancing in the Warhammer world, but it's slower than in our world (from all we can tell) and seems distinct from the way things went for us. While HYPOTHETICALLY genetic modification might be possible, the fact is that that is so ridiculously far in the future we could honestly not tell if it'd work. At that point, you might just as well search a 40k-forum and ask there. ;)

Also, minor tidbit/nitpick, but STRICTLY SPEAKING, Orcs and Goblins aren't quite Chaotic forces. They just wanna scrap and their emotions, for some ungodly reason, don't really feed the Chaos Gods that well, they go to Mork and Gork instead...somehow.
Orcs are REALLY badly explained, but hey, they're just fun.

Lol alright, thanks a ton for the detailed response :) Also I know Orcs aren't really chaotic forces, but I thought that because they cause so much turmoil and destruction that they probably contributed in some way to the chaos gods, but I suppose they do worship Mork and Gork instead lol

Well to be fair, that was not the case. There were the various proto-lifeforms which the old ones altered. Further the actual rise of chaos was after the creation of the elves.
Also the extent to which chaos gains its power from all life is also related to the nature of chaos itself. A chaos that is powered entirely by the mental energies of the lizardmen is bound to be a very different kind of chaos than a chaos that is driven by the mental impulses of the warmbloods. Chaos while generated by life, is also reflective of it.
That said, the Old Ones were also fleeing some greater cosmic war with chaos itself, at least according to the older archaic lore.

Clearly, the solution is to replace all beings and wildlife in the world with greenskins and squigs. /s

To almost everything they're recently added and are going to add... :D

Well, I dunno, but of course I'd be very happy if the other guys' work is awesome enough to get the actual creators to play it. :D

So like, how do the Orcs even get into places in like the middle of Bretonnia? Its not like they can just sneak through a town or anything, for because they stand out, two because Orcs dont sneak lol. Also, even if they do manage to maybe sneak through a forest or something, how could they possibly manage to build up the numbers to have full out war with a major nation? Are there just such a large number already hiding in the west that they dont need anymore to come through?

While Warhammer Fantasy never directly answered that by itself, I think commonly, the explanation from Warhammer 40k is accepted.
Meaning, in essence: They literally just grow out of the ground combat-ready. Being gigantic bloodthirsty fungoids, and all.
Also, there are SOME sneaky Orcs. They tend to be smaller. :p

As for the numbers increasing, that's explainable by A. the orcs constantly growing more and more Orcs (and Goblins, and Squigs, and and and....) in their Orky homelands and B. the fact that "small" Warbands might sneak/stomp past regular patrols and conglomerate into larger hordes that inevitably cause havoc before being killed somewhere, someway, leaving spores all around from which new Orcs may or may not grow.

I ask the higher loremasters to correct me where wrong. :D
