Inspired by something mentioned in the Cursed Sands thread:
Who is watching the Southern Chaos Gate? I know the elves have outposts on the southern coasts of Lustria, the Southlands, Khandesh, etc. but are they really all that's stopping a horde of Chaos Demons from trekking through the Southlands and hitting Araby/Ind from the south? It seems odd that we hear a lot about the Northern Chaos Gate, but the Southern Chaos Gate is fairly quiescent. Is it because the Southern Chaos Gate is closer to Lustria and thus, the Slann are better able to keep it contained?
If the elves/Slann could reconstruct the northern lay-line network (maybe using Albion as a central hub, a la the Lustrian lay-line network), could they similarly restrict the Chaos Winds to the Chaos Wastes proper? IIRC, part of the reason the Slann sent Kroq-Gar to Albion during the Albion Campaign (by the way, is that campaign still canon? I know they squatted the Storm of Chaos, but IDK about Albion), was because Albion was home to a metric ton of lay-line intersections, and a lot of Old One defenses.
