How long does the Tomb Kings' "incapacitated" status generally last?

From half a day to a decade or two. It's really super-random.

Inspired by something mentioned in the Cursed Sands thread:

Who is watching the Southern Chaos Gate? I know the elves have outposts on the southern coasts of Lustria, the Southlands, Khandesh, etc. but are they really all that's stopping a horde of Chaos Demons from trekking through the Southlands and hitting Araby/Ind from the south? It seems odd that we hear a lot about the Northern Chaos Gate, but the Southern Chaos Gate is fairly quiescent. Is it because the Southern Chaos Gate is closer to Lustria and thus, the Slann are better able to keep it contained?

If the elves/Slann could reconstruct the northern lay-line network (maybe using Albion as a central hub, a la the Lustrian lay-line network), could they similarly restrict the Chaos Winds to the Chaos Wastes proper? IIRC, part of the reason the Slann sent Kroq-Gar to Albion during the Albion Campaign (by the way, is that campaign still canon? I know they squatted the Storm of Chaos, but IDK about Albion), was because Albion was home to a metric ton of lay-line intersections, and a lot of Old One defenses.

This one is the job of the Lizardmen. If I remember the fluff correctly, they fight extremely intense wars against invading daemons in the jungles of the far south, but because it's so far away from the Old World, nobody knows what goes on down there.

Besides location of all the protagonist factions, I wonder if the other reason for the general focus on the north is the human population of the Chaos Wastes, which provides a ready source of Champions and Everchosen candidates. Maybe the south is just a daemon-blighted wasteland surrounded by Lizardmen forts (not that we really know).

Weird, I had thought it was the other way around: that the reason the population in the Chaos Wastes was so high was because the Chaos Gate up there was so strong. Basically, under "natural" circumstances, the Chaos Wastes would be about as hospitable as modern Greenland or North Russia; but because of the Chaos Gate spewing energy all over the place, there's all kinds of unnatural flora and fauna that are mostly powered by chaos energy rather than by, say, photosynthesis. Sort of like how the deep-sea geothermal vents provide energy for ecosystems at the bottom of the ocean where there's no sunlight.

Maybe it's a self-reinforcing cycle? The Northern Chaos Wastes are highly populated because the chaos gate is strong because the chaos wastes are highly populated because...

The biggest reason for the focus is on the northern chaos gate and not the southern is because of the land "bridge." The southern chaos wastes are surrounded by ocean.

Plus it's important to remember the chaos gates are not like the dark portal in warhammer. When the winds are at their strongest daemons can exist outside the realms of chaos, but that's usually extremely rare. Most of the time they need to posses someone or something, be summoned by a sorcerer, etc.

Will removing the skaven affect gameplay that much? I would remove the new world to improve performance, but I kinda wanted to colonize lustria. I am playing as the Empire

I don't know the exact numbers anymore, but I remember that the Skaven have about as much territory as any other continent (maybe more), and a metric ton of characters that keep dying, respawning, and clogging up the system. So yeah, it DOES affect it quite a bit.

Quick question: How exactly do you colonize the new world? I thought it'd be a CB but they seem out of diplomatic range, so not sure that's it.

Was this question directed at me? If it was, I was just planning on cheating to get a small foothold, otherwise I don't know

He was a red blooded dark elven man before he tried to usurp the throne unsuccessfully in a massive revolt. A lot of people died in that little endeavor. He also was burned into a desecated corpse by the pheonix fire from head to toe-kinda hard to procreate when it's burned off.

So I recently inherited a kingdom that had a lot of chaos followers as vassals, and was wondering how to get the witchhunters to banish/kill them, because I can't normally take their titles without getting tyranny

Hello!

I'm new to mods and I have problems getting this one to work. I have downloaded it and placed it in a folder called 'mod' in the CKII folder in documents. When I start the game on steam and the launcher opens with geheimnisnacht there. I click the little box and starts the game.
The screen loads as CK2 normally would and once it has completed the normal CK2 game starts with no mod.
How do I solve this problem so I try your mod?

Best regards
