So I'm doing some battle casualties in-game simulations and I've stumbled upon a discrepancy with my calculations. The wiki page says the dice roll and casualty formulas are (1.24) as follows.
The simulation I'm running is the most basic one you could say. 5k fully maintained infantry (Halberd Infantry) troops on each side. All data is for the very first day of the battle (fire phase day 1).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First the Dice equation: Droll - fixed at 0 via console command = 0
LS - leader pips modifiers, no leaders, so = 0
UP - unit attack pips, Halberd Infantry have no shock/fire modifiers, only 1 offensive morale and 1 defensive morale, cancelling the opponent's pips out = 0
T - terrain is ok for both, no penalties = 0
Formula: Dice = 0 + 0 + 0 - 0 - 0 = 0
So the Dresult is 0, making the base casualties only 15.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now that we've got that settled out, we can focus on the main formula. Casualties overall.
Cbase is 15 as I already explained = 15
Us = attacking unit strength, attacker, just like the defender, has only 5 regiments = 5
Um - infantry fire (we don't need shock since fire is the only phase I am monitoring now) is determined by tech, both 5k armies have only 0.35 = 0.35 * 5 = 1.75
Disregarding PMatk, CA and PMdef altogether (both nations have no such modifiers), leaves us with only two more unknown variables, Ud and Ut.
Ud - discipline of attacking unit, basic 1444 value = 1
Ut - tactics of defending unit, basic 1444 value = 0.5
Combined all together, that gives us something like this:
15 * 5 * 0.35 * (1 / 0.5) = 52.5
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK, so its 52.5 troops dead on the first day, right? No. It's actually 50. Can someone here please point out where the mistake is? Is that number rounded down? Or am I missing something else completely?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just waited for the shock phase, I took the previously used formula (15 * 5 * 0.35 * (1 / 0.5) = x) and changed the 0.35 to 0.5 (shock unit modifier), casualties were 95 while it was supposed to be 75 at most. I don't get this game.
