Quests& Joint Command of the alliance

Is it possible to ad to game a quests?(orr..EDIT Priorities)

EDIT_ this proposal is actualy proposal of JOINT COMMAND of the Alliance, please read posts below on this thread where I am elaborating idea.

For example:
You are Romania. You are in Axis.
Germany starts the war against USSR.

You get a message Quest from Germany arrives:Atack USSR .
You atack.
You get another Quest:Fight until USSR is defeated.
Or,capture Kiev.

Conducting the quest results in improvement of relationship with Germany, and decreases cost of for instance obtaining licence for production of some German equipement and technology.

Allso,maybee even more important:

Country can be in Alliance but doesnt need to atack every country its Alliance is atacking ,allways.
So when country that is in one alliance is starting atack on new enemy it actualy sends the quest or serrie of quests to its allies, they have some probability(AI allies)to respond with accepting action, and some percentage of not conducting quest?the more powerfull country is,more probably allies will accept the quest.

Another prolongation of idea-lets us remember in game we will be able to give orders to our armies to fight to achieve some objective,Yes?

Let us prolong this idea to Quests to allies:

When you are major power, lets use Germany as example.

You send quest to Italy-atack Malta:Italy can accept or refuse.
If accept Italy AI will concente on Malta.
Or example Romania- Quest:Atack and capture in direction of Odessa-Romanian troops in Barbarrosa(if accepted) will concetrate towards Odessa and south Ucraine.

Does this have a sense?
Can it be done?

EDIT as DanDaMan sad,we can instead of Quests talk about Priorities!

So you want like, fronts, but instead of ordering your own units, you order your allied nations?

Could be a good idea but I suspect most players would either ignore allies or just military control them.

So you want like, fronts, but instead of ordering your own units, you order your allied nations?

Its a quest,not an order.

It can be refused.

Power of quest to be proportional with power of country requesting guest, and military and polithical reality. For instance Romania that have claims on USSR territory will allmost allways acept quest to atack USSR.
Bulgaria???questionable.
Hungary?
Italy hates british praesence in Mediterranian.Quest like atack Malta to have real possibility.
Whatabout Italy sending to you as Germany quest, atack Greece(read,Heeelp please:D)

I never did like military control, its realy allmost an exploit.

There is no need for MC with this.accepting quest by allie means he will follow your reQuest, but will AI accept? If he accept will he accomplish it like you want?
Ancertainity?
Isnt this miles ahead from crude predictable Military control by your hand?

Why not ask allie to follow you somewhere or do something,if he wants to,or not,or can?

Why not quests/priorities, in fact Romania did it to reclaim bessarabia lost due to Wiena Dictats.... So yes, Romania will be interesed to make war to Russia to reclaim national land.... Initially it was only to retake that, after the quick victories of June, they went as far as Stalingrad... Where they were the main cause with the Italians of the encerclements ot Van Paulus armee... As they were covering the north flank of the attack.... They were poor echiped and outnumbered by the russians... My Grand father fought there and came back, but he had to luck that is unit stopped at Odessa, and was called back to Romania.... I didn't told me much of the war because it was terrible, the only things he said to me is that he could have walked from river Prut (frontier of Romania) to Odessa on Russian soldiers bodies...

Sounds like EU3 missions to me. Which would be all fine and nice. And easy for Paradox to implement. Also it could reward historic behavior a little without forcing anything on the player.

The beauty of the EU3 missions is that they provide direction without the "BAM!" pop-up events. Events are sudden, irreversible, and (when you don't know they are coming) a real annoyance as you can't get to the info behind the pop-up screen. It makes the game a manditory hind-sight exersize.

I found the rewards for completing missions to be just enough to make the missions a worth-while endeavor. I'm hoping that missions will replace the vast majority of events from HoI2.

I liked the EU missions idea and I think that would be a nice addition to HOI3 too. You can do them, or ignore them...if you like to roleplay, you can be the national military leader who has to satisfy your erratic national leader's whims and fancies - or whatever. It adds to replay value and can be modded too, presumably, for more flexibility and fun.

I remember reading it was, but that was a while ago. It's very possible due to the scale of the game it won't be implemented.

I would much prefer it if it was scaled down to Missions that apply to Leaders and if they complete their objective within a good time limit they recieve a morale boost or something along those lines.

But we've seen all of the main screens now: Politics, Diplomacy, Production, Intelligence, Technology. Where are the Missions?

We get the Decisions from EUIII IN (Diplomacy screen Dev Diary #12) and Laws From EU:Rome VV (Politics screen Dev Diary #13). I don't think we will have Missions.

Aren't you forgetting about laws? There are no sliders, now there are laws. This is from the same box in EU3 that holds the mission details. Its the same engine...

...or maybe I'm making too many assumptions. Any-whoo, I really hope they use missions as a mechanism to replace the historic pop-up events. I would rather court Austria in '36, guarrentee their sovereignty, and fund the Austrian Nazi Party (all do-able in the new systems in HoI3) than just get the pop-up event in the spring of '38 saying "You have now annexed Austria. Congradulations."

As far as I know the missions are still going to be in HoI3.
You get a list of a bunch of them at the start of the game, and you pick out which ones you want, to reflect your gameplay goals.
This is supposed to add a touch of "officialness" to winning with a minor power.
