Ok so i have a question which isnt on topic to any of the currently running DDs or important enough for its own thread. So Here is a thread for all small and important questions that many of you probably have to be asked and hopefully answered.

Is there a war-goal or diplomatic action to force someone to release any/all their prisoners to you?
So if your brother or preferred king or just fellow countrymen are held captive in a foreign land you can do something about it

I don;t have the answer to the above, but I have a question of my own.

Will you be able to choose what kind of 'settlement' a barony is? I.e could you change a caste to a city or a church settlement?

If not, will you at least get to vhoose between the 3 when you buy a fief slot?

You can't switch settlement types on already existing settlements, but as PdoxLP said you can choose the settlement you want to build if there is a free slot for it.

Well you could think there should be thatkind of option. I do know that they can ransom the character back to you but nobody has revealed if you can demand them to free a character. I would not be suprised if you can pay money for a character to be released so if its a foreign ruler his opinion of you might rise.

Another question that is not really "important", since this thread is likely going to be the "ask the developpers thread" (like in Magna Mundi):

I don't know if any of you had read "The Accursed Kings" books, but I did and there is some thing I would really like to see in the game. What made me think of that is the on stream game in which the player's wife was pregnant at the very moment (or almost) when he felt sick. Of course he had many (2) children at this moment, but if he hadn't have one...

All this to say : Is there any kind of feature to make a situation in which a regency can be made for an unborn child, like for John Postumus in France?

I think in an earlier stage of developpement, they said no, but things can change.

One question from me.
Would in CK2 possibility for some lords to become member (and grossmeister then) of any knights order? And in same time remain son of king, duke, etc., but, maybe, without inheritance rights (like bastard)?

Thats been said no to by someone who has played a preview copy on account of writing reviews as a reviewer. So probably no.

I have some questions.

Is it possible to create (or invite) new courtiers and marry them to other courtiers who are not part of your dynasty?

What are the three actions for the chancellor? (Answer: Improve relation with lord of a province, Forge claim, Sow dissent)

What do spy rings do apart from increasing the chance of assassination? (Answer: Increase chance of bad events like "corruption discovered")

Do they last without the spymaster's direct presence in that province? (Answer:No)

Does income of a settlement still have something to do with the number of troops raised there, or is it only determined by a base value plus the troops from added buildings?

You can "summon" new courtiers by pressing the invite courtier button on the menu. Unless something has been changed, the system would be similar to CK1 where you could marry your courtiers (you could marry your Wittlesbach marshall with your Rurikovich courtier while your dynasty is Capet).

The three different settlements have different base incomes. The city has the largest one. You can expand the income with upgrades, I believe. You can also expand the amount of troops in the settlements (like in the castle).

Can you play as an ecclesiastical ruler? I've seen Prince-bishops in the streams, but I;m wondering if you can actually be one.

No, you can't play as anything other than christian count, duke, king or emperor. This includes catholic's, ortodox's and all their heretic religions. You can't play as any bishop, pope, muslim, pagan, mayor, baron or normal courtier.

Im not sure if I have seen this is any of the streams or not, but can you upgrade the minor settlements as well, if you hold them personally?

I think I've only seen people upgrade the capital castle so far.

I'm pretty sure you can.

but I like that unhappy barons are not counted towards the ability to alter succession laws, so there's not much reason not to hand out baronies as your demesne maxes out. I wonder if they have a vote in changing other laws like crown authority.

Speaking of which, how are votes counted? Is a duke worth every barony under him, the number of his counties, or just as a single duke?

Every duke has one vote. It doesn't matter how many duke tittles the person has he still has just one vote. If its a HRE vote then also the kings under the emperor can vote and emperor himself.

Also Duke would have Counts under him mostly or his Barons would be really pissed off.

maybe you shouldn't "answer" questions if you have no idea what you're talking about. I'm just saying :)

I know we can't play as baron, but what will happen if a count with 1 county and 1 barony as his demesne lose a war, and the winner take his count title? Is he game over even when he still have 1 barony as demesne?
