Yes. If you want to grab a title using a claim, you have to declare that war.

You can't DoW someone while fighting them. If their offensive war ends when I wipe out their armies (was pretty common vs Pagans as Poland), can I immediately DoW without facing fresh armies? Yes, I know, and I will try it myself next time and see :D

This would be quite bad if their war resulted in a truce, what determines whether there's a truce or not (a demand for land)?

I was trying to invite new people to my court and for this I arranged marreges of my courtiers to very skilled women(because no one was willing to come to me..why?), after that a message told me X.. has arrived on your court. But still I wasn't able to give that person an office, for ex. cancellor. Always when I selected the "appoint" button these women didn't show up. Why? Tried it several times..

And if someone of your court or a relative is caught in a battle or somewhere and then arrested on another court, to pay to get him back? Didn't found a button for that..even when you open the diplomacy with the liege how arrested him or the person directly.

Love this game..truly amazing.
It only sucks that my liege don't have to ask me when he wanted to raise troops from my land(maybe because of good relations) -.-

Going by memory, there was a prisoners tab somewhere under each character. From there you could ransom for the release of a particular person. I don't remember how to get to that though. =\

I'll throw my question in:

Playing as Bohemia, I was able to betroth my daughter to my liege's (Kaiser of the HRE) son, heir to the HRE. The game ended before I could see the result of my plans, but what I attempted to do was this:

- Have my daughter marry HRE's heir
- They hopefully have a son
- My grandson, through carefully picked assassinations on my side, becomes not only the heir of the HRE, but also the heir to the Kingdom of Bohemia.
- I now control both the HRE and Bohemia after the death of the current King of Bohemia (me) and HRE (my liege).

Is this even possible though?

You can not appoint woman in your court. If you want more people try the decisions ("Invite xxx to court") in the intrigue window. Realy usefull if someone from your court want to marry but no woman are available - just invite one to your court for some money.

Question: if you as a vassa voted against changing kingdom law, can you somehow vote for it later? It seems, AI does change it`s voting decisions, can a player do the same?

It should be. Remember the HRE is elective to start with, not hereditary, so your grandson doesn't need to be related to the Emperor to be elected, although this might help. Seconly you only get to become your grandson if he is your dynasty, and the HRE will almost certainly not agree to matrilinear marriage.

Sure you can, I have female Spymasters all the time. The behaviour described by Iljitsch Ulja is correct however in that wives to my courtiers are not selectable. I've yet to actively search for the common denominator of women I can appoint Spymaster, but family (wife, mother) seems to be always possible at least.

Spymaster is the only position that can be appointed to a woman and only to the spouse or mother of a ruler. Other positions are for men only.

Yup, it's in.
Also, why can't the King of Poland swear fealty to the Emperor?
In previous versions he could. I think they removed it because it's a huge exploit. If you, as a non-HRE king, swear fealty to the Empire you can conquer the whole HRE and the HRE can't do anything about it.
Is 'river' the only terrain combat modifier?
There are more.

Has anyone found something like the DNA in CK I for modding in your own character?

Yes, every character has a DNA string that can be scripted in and modded. There is a dev diary by podcat on the subject (see the dev diary archive). The properties that can be modded are found in a file under interface if I don't remember incorrectly.

Also, why can't the King of Poland swear fealty to the Emperor?

The HRE aren't to keen on letting in a vassal that would be too powerful. This was easily exploited by many betas and devs.

Will there be more ambitions for independent rulers besides killing your wife in the full game? It's harder not to get 1000 prestige / 500 piety than it is to get it atm :|, and there doesn't seem to be anything else to pick as ambition.

I was messing around in the new game map where you select who you want to play as and I noticed for some peoples dynasties it was labelled "Lowborn"

I was wondering what happens if you choose a lowborn character. Do they need to marry into a Dynasty or do you randomnly get based on location?

With the dynasty string as it is, the dynasties all have a number, which has a single name against it. The only way to hyphenate a name would be to hyphenate it for all members of the dynasty, or for your character to leave the dynasty, and thus have no "backup" heirs available in case they did not have any children. This could easily lead to game over.

It only sucks that my liege don't have to ask me when he wanted to raise troops from my land(maybe because of good relations) -.-

No, the Emperor and Matilda strongly disliked each other and he seemed to trump up a fight with the Pope just so he could take and burn through my levies fighting him.
