How does someone obtain the necromancer trait? With these bookmarks as they currently are are I really only like playing Harkon, and having him with and without the necromancer trait is a huge difference. Thanks. Also is Molag Bal supposed to leave shorty after starting the game?

From what I can last recall. You need be a mage of some type, possibly you can be something similar like a priest, and it will come to you as an event. I became a Necromancer like that as Orgnum. However, this was in a previous version so I am not sure if that changed.

It's an event, and it will fire depending on your traits. You need to have at least one these traits (Cruel, Ruthless, Tyrant, Envious, Reckless, Impaler, Ambitious) and you must not have the following (Kind, Just). Being a Meridia follower also prevents the event from firing. The meant time to happen is 300 months (25 years), so make sure you get one of those traits as early as possible and avoid being a nice guy at all costs : P. Other than that, getting it is just a matter of chance. Mer, being long lived, will have the better chance to actually become necromancers, while some human mages will not get the event at all, although it is highly unlikely not to get the event during a normal lifespan.

EDIT: Oh, yeah. You need to be some kind of mage, too. Pretty obvious : P

New question, been ploughing through the decision and ambition files but things don't seem to work out. In short; how do I get the amulet of kings? So far I hold the kingdoms of Cyrodil and Skyrim but I can't seem to access the ambition to obtain the amulet, despite meeting all the triggers - I have an ambitious adult who is a king, has a kingdom title, is eight-divine, not infirm, incapable or slothful, have prestige 500, and still, no joy.

Anyone knows what do I need to change to make the decision to prevent your liege from asking you to become a councillor useful against commander position as well? I'm playing 0.1.6, by the way.
Not sure. My guess is that since it's vanilla, that request might be hardcoded, but I can ask around and find out for sure.

How does someone obtain the necromancer trait? With these bookmarks as they currently are are I really only like playing Harkon, and having him with and without the necromancer trait is a huge difference. Thanks. Also is Molag Bal supposed to leave shorty after starting the game?
1. Arzakon's got it right.

2. Nope, the Daedric Princes should live forever. Daedric Princes weren't intended to be in the general release of 0.1.6 and they're fundamentally incomplete in that version. In the SVN version, they aren't subject to aging events anymore, so you shouldn't see them get Infirm/Incapable/die almost immediately. As a general rule, the SVN is completely superior to 0.1.6 and is the better choice to use. There's a lot of bugfixes and new features that make going through the extra trouble to download it 100% worth it.

Does the Empire of Tamriel exist? Does anyone else have the Amulet of Kings? The traditional way to get the Amulet is to put your Steward on Sancre Tor with the "Survey" job action and eventually, they will find it. It can take a long time, but they'll recover it if no one else currently has it.

No empire of Tamriel, been surveying Sancre Tor for a few hundred years now, would love to check the save file to see if someone else has the amulet, sadly I don't have the trait number, does anyone know it?

If you open up character search and type in Amulet of Kings, it should show up that way since it's a trait. Have you had any stewards die of unnatural causes while surveying Sancre Tor? If you have, that means that a few characters have gotten close.

Quick question:
Is the multiplayer part currently functional in 1.6/SVN?
Whenever we try to start a game it will immediately go out of sync within a day or two of unpausing the game.
Tried both 1.6 release version as well as the current SVN, same result. Is there maybe a step in the setup that would be considered so trivial as not to explicitly state it in the installation instructions (like regenerating some caches)?
Vanilla and other mods run fine and we obviously have the same checksum.
Oh, we did have to use two files from the NoPortraitDLC.zip as we both lack the iberian, norse and celtic portraits, could that be the issue?
Any help would be appreciated as this is by far our favorite mod.

Best regards,
suffnas

Couple questions eksvn from about 8th of jan :

1. Has anyone had the weed out cabals actually fire in reasonable times? Had ppl doing it for 10+ yrs with only result of them spreading to vassals duchy capital and "infecting" the duke to become daedric bastard... Thank god no the one with the annoying disease cult that causes constant revolts after the plague.

2. As follow up does the recent (last 20 yrs gametime) frequent plagues/maladies have something to do with rampant cult activity or am I hitting some "special" times? Game yr 3888. Started from that invasion from east bookmark and it sure was let down as the "great" invaders declared 2 wars (or started with both) and promptly lost both in short order (dunno if they didn't have boats to deliver proper stacks or what happened there)

1. I have, yes, but it can take a while sometimes. It's hard to predict when it'll happen. Such is the dreaded nature of MTTH.

2. Cults can increase the likelihood for negative provincial events, yes. Also, make sure you don't go over your demesne limit--the higher over your limit you are, the more likely it is that negative events will happen.

Incidentally, I think the over demense limit thing could use a little looking at for the more heavy duty cbs. If you forget to pause, suddenly going 50 over your demense limit can cause a dozen events to pop within a day.

60 years of trying to get rid of cult in holding that was on vassal dukes control -> the duke converts to some daedra worshipping bastard (my char being zealous hate was mutual) -> I gained his lands in revolt wars aftermath.

Then 20 years of more on/off cult hunting (had to use spymaster to couple urgent assassination/capture missions) and then was starting to think I will die soon as age of char is 82 and kablaam event with no text and about 8 percentages for something and now I'm zelous molag baal daedra follower...

As I rp all my chars and conveniently had zeal of nearly 2k (was fervent 8 divine guy most of his life and zealous to boot) I instantly took the pureblood and mologs hammer events and now seems like the world will be in for major chaos as I will turn everyone who submits to chao... molog baal and kill the rest.

Talk about turning the game to its head...

Oh and point of this wall of text:

You really need to fix the hunt cultist action as my spymasters all 10 or so of them had 16+ skill and failed to remove the cultists first in vassal province and then in own desmene during 82 years of reign + some 10/15yrs of previous rulers reign.

If you keep control of that cultist province, you'll flip over to another cult a few years down the line so long as the province itself isn't converted over to a deadric cult religion. The events are suppose to convert the province, not the ruler. The bug seems to have been fixed internally at this point.

I think i`m being pretty stupid since I`ve sunk a fair amount of time into this mod, but I`ve never formed the empire of tamriel.
So all I wanted to ask is what are the requirements to make it, is it done through a decision, and does it come with the Nine Divines religion?
Help would be much appreciated Plllllease :)

Since bloodline traits are only inheritable from the father, is it possible to merge bloodlines?

You answered your own question. They are only inheritable from one side, so they are unable to be "collected"

Or do you mean an actual new bloodline formed? That would likely cause all sorts of mess a few hundred years into the game.

I already thought so, I was just making sure.

Why was the decision made for bloodlines to be only inheritable through males?

To avoid people collecting bloodlines, I believe. Besides, agnatic inheritance of traits is already in the code.

I don't remember the requirements off-hand, though IIRC being Dragonborn, Dragonborn-descendant, Reman bloodline, Hidellith bloodline, having the Amulet of Kings or having a claim to Tamriel is required. It's a decision, and it does not immediately bring in the Nine Divines, but if the founder is Eight Divines, when he or she dies an event will form the Nine Divines.

Thanks that's helpful, so what your saying though is that you have to be a specific character, btw I've never seen someone have a claim on the empire of tamriel.
