I am getting close to a point where I will be making a vassal merchant republic and I'd like to keep it in the family if possible. But I have a few worries about it:
1. I have many landed feudal members of my family. If one of them is elected patrician will the house (and entire MR if doge) cease to exist and be replaced by feudal rulers? Is this dependent on the person elected being of lower rank as a feudal ruler than they would become as doge?
2. In this particular instance, I happen to be immortal and have been around for a couple hundred years, so naturally I will be the most likely candidate to replace any family member as patrician. Will this happen or can I prevent them, somehow, from electing me patrician?
I'm sure there are other potential problems of having my family run a MR while I am a feudal ruler too. If you can think of any other problems I am overlooking that would be much appreciated.
