Sorry if this has already been asked before but I have some questions about the province.csv file.

1 - Region and Area, what are they used for? Does it matter if a province from one region/area is put into another?

2 - Port, I understand the seazone but why is there "port"? It seems even provinces with no sea access have something different from 0 in this row.

3 - There is a province with "Unused" in the "Prov" row. Does it matter? If I mod a map with the map utility and one ID is not used in this map, should I put "Unused" in this row?

4 - What are the filler lines at the bottom of the file?

Thanking anyone who might answer in advance I am looking forward to any reply.

1) They are used for events ('your demesne is to wide apart and son on' or the English Melting pot event) and by game-mechanics, f.e. events that gives you random claims always give you claims within your own region/area (while this isn't defined in the event-file.

2) Ports never made it into the final game

3) No idea, but putting 'unused' in it would be the safest thing to do I think.

4) No idea

Random claims always in the same region? In my last game as St. Gallen (german/catholic) I got a claim on Lübeck (western slavic/pagan)?
Is there a map of regions so that one can take care to rule only provinces within one region oneself and give the others to vassals? Or is that region and neighbouring regions? I did not have revolts in Italy yet with capital in Pfalz but I did have revolts in Spain.

Both Sankt Gallen and Lübeck are in the region known in the game as Germany

Code:
248	PROV248	St. Gallen	Germany

262	PROV262	Lübeck	Germany

AFAIK there is no regional/area map for DV or CK 1.05. There was one but that was for older patches.
