Hello,

After playing the demo, I was hoping that someone might be able to answer a few quick questions that I have about the game.

1. Can you play non-campaign random maps vs ai, like in age of empires III, or Warcraft III and many other games, where instead of the campaign you
get to pick a map and set ai to something like (easy, normal, hard) etc?

2. If there is such a setting, can you play with friends online co-op vs ai like
2 people vs 2 computers? and is 2vs2 the largest map size available?

I know co-op vs ai isn't everyone's cup of tea, but practically every RTS these days from Aoe III, to even LoL has a variation of co-op vs ai, or atleast
offline play on random maps vs ai, even the settlers.

Thanks!

Well, that's a no sale to me, then, as I prefer random maps to scripted campaign maps in this sort of game.

Wtf?

Seriously?

Yup.

There will be some non-campaign map in the game (6 or 8 if I remember correct), but nothing random or scaleable difficulty in them.

The engine itself can't generate random maps so it won't be implemented ever but we hope a map editor (but no matter how many times we ask we don't get answer about it from Paradox) that can help a lot.

I want random maps. :(
Because I play over and over again.

Yup, I do that with all strategy games I play. I don't like the RPG and FPS genres, mainly because once you've played them for their 10 hours of duration, your money is gone. I play strategy games like Sins of a Solar Empire for hundreds of hours, simply because they offer that much re-playability. A strategy game with customizable random maps also means players will most likely still be around when an expansion and/or sequel are released.

I like how you think, Beric.

Seriously, I'm in the same mindset as you are as to the value I seek in games. Majesty is a great example of the sort of game you can literally play again and again and again ... for eight years even!

Then again, every once in a while a game comes out that is just so good, so much fun, that you feel practically incapable of resisting a dive into the sequel. For me, Majesty 2 is one of those games.

I would love--and I mean LOVE--to see a quality editor and co-op added to this game. I'm afraid that its persistence on my hard drive will pale in comparison to its glorious father (and his wife, the Northern Expansion) and, like you, I know that the community will also likely fade from existence without those as well. Here is to hoping that the dev's really do listen to the voice of the community ...

I agree. I have had few issues with what I saw in the single-player department. I think most of those things can be tweaked and fixed but multiplayer is so limited... it's just a pass for me right now. I have too many single player as it is to get through. Multiplayer games, those get reinstalled on my builds year after year and I eagerly await the next installments for those games too.
