Hello!

So I've been playing as Germany up until 1941 now, and have gathered some questions over this period of time.

1. Is all units the same, e.i does the german "Infantry 1939" have the same attributes as the Sovjet or Englands "Infantry 1939". I sincerely do not hope this, but I understads if this would be too hard to implement in the game. German Stuka must surely be better than the allied counterpart of that technologi?

2. Is an invasion from Sovjet avoidable? I've conquered almost all of Europe by now but the bear in the East is just now invading me, I've tried reloading my savegames to try and influence them to like me more. But it seems thier invasion is hardcoded into the game?

3. Amphibious Assaults. When I load my transports with infantry and order the boats to make an Amphibious Assault on enemy territory the the transports just steams away to the province and then it just turns around and goes back to its base.

Thats all I can think of now!
Thanks in advance!

1) As a general rule, yes, they're the same.
2) I don't think it's 100% hardcoded, I think there's simply a high chance of it happening
3) When you start the mission, set STR and ORG to 0% instead of 50%. Probably one of the ships is below the 50% threshold and therefore blocking the attack for the whole fleet.

There is an event chain in the Soviet AI event file that will almost inevitably lead them to prepare for war against you if you have Poland (Mol-Rib pact notwithstanding) and especially if you've moved in on the Baltic states (beyond claiming Klaipeda from Lithuania). But the only explicit war declarations I can find against Germany are if they attack Poland without signing the pact, or if they dishonour it. In the event commands file it says that ai_prepare_war means the country will move troops to the border with the target. Does it also include an eventual declaration of war when these preparations are complete?

Thanks very much for the answers!

There is some other things I'm wondering about too tho.

1. Japan, what exactly do I need to do in order to get them to join Axis? I've tried influencing them for years but "Bring to alliance" is always 0%. As a sidenote, Norway joined the Axis around 1940, is this a bug? It seems totally unrealistic too me.

2. Yugoslavia. Is there an event for the invasion of Yugoslavia? I did wait for some descision to happen, but then I just invaded it myself and annexed it.

3.With the CAS, is it best to use Ground Support or Ground Attack? Ground Support seems like the best thing to do since its mostly the low ORG that casues battles to be Won, right?

4. Savegames. I'm bringing my laptop to work, so I was wondering if its safe to exchange the savefile from the computer at home to the laptop from time to time so I can continue my game there. If Yes, do I just copy the files "Germany_1941_August_5.eug/cfg" back and forth?

Sorry for all the questions. But this seems to be all I'm wondering about!
Also, Thanks for this AWESOME game with an absolutely stunning looking map! Love it!

1) I honestly don't know about Japan. Norway probably joined the Axis because UK decided to invade it (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plan_R_4)
2) Yes, there is. You have to make them join the Axis first (I think the Diplomatic Campaign decision is required, so Paris must be in your hands or in one of your allies).
3) It depends. Grounds Support is better when the enemy is fighting, Ground Attack when the enemy is retreating after a lost battle.
4) Yes, if both computer have the same version/patch of DH.

Thanks for taking your time to answer!

The other thing thats bugging me in the game is Radar. USA keeps sending bombers to Essen/Berlin and keeping my IC down to 0 on these provinces constantly.

I've read the manual, but I still don't understand how they work. The thing I do understand about them is that the static AA gets a bonus with them on the same province, and fighters get a bonus when fighting overhead them in the same province?

But other than that, I have no clue how they work. My Interceptors in both Essen and Berlin are on Scramble but many times they just sit on the airfield while they bomb the IC. I'm thinking maybe radars "alerts" fighters/interceptors that are set to Air Superiority in an area where radars are present, and when an enemy bombers passes that province, the fighters tries to intercept them?

Any clarification on how these work is apprecieted, right now I'm building radars along every province in north of France and just keeping my fingers crossed. If they don't stop sending thier massive waves of bombers soon from UK, I might start Sea Lion!!! :)

Thanks!

The superiority of Wehrmacht at certain (historical) points in time is represented by German land doctrine, not the individual units. In other words German doctrine is superior early in the game, but Soviets/Allies catch up later.

@pellson: I guess it's better to first build AA over France rather than radar.
Anyway, I guess your planes didn't scramble because they were below the STR/ORG threshold which you set when you make them start the mission (default is 50%). Also, check the date of the end of the mission (you can set it to infinite).
