I know from the japan www stream that im able to select which equipment the diviaion template should use and which not.
My question is if it is possible to get two different tank variants at a 50/50 rate in your division.
I know that the game is priorising modern equipment but what is going to happen if i make a pz lll variant with a good gun (5-5-0-0) and one with goo armor (0-5-5-0).
Which one is the game considering better ( both times i use 10 points gun/armor + reliability) and is it possible to get them at a 50/50 rate in my divisions?
Thx

I believe you can get both since you can name the variant and save it. Then you can choose to open a new production line with it.
The only thing the game seems to do is replacing old tech with newer one on the equipament list and even for this iirc there's a checkbox to disable it.
Anyway it does not replace equipament already in the production lines you have to do that factory allocation by yourself.

There is a new feature in the game where you can micormanage each division for which type of equipment to use. Da9L showed it in the latest WWW.
I think it was for each division individually... maybe it was in the division template. I am not sure...

Yeah, i know this feature. If i have two variants with 10 points each (lets call them pzkw lll E and pzkw lll N).
Is the game trying to fill up your division with pzkw lll N and the rest with Es or the other way round or is it going to balance both types? How does the game decide which one is the older and which the newer tech if i have two variants worth 10 points?

From the stream seemed can only toggle on and off, maybe with MOD could change those to allocate % of variants in there also

If you can rename variant maybe in the division screen could set each variant for each row??? but would require some show and tell from da9l tomorrow...

You can toggle different equipment off/on in the template. So can prevent the pzkw lll E being used in one template, and only pzkw lll N. And vice versa. But if you allow both to be used then it will be pretty random which type each Div gets. No way to control it 50/50.

This would be pretty inefficient to set-up a new production line for pzkw lll N, while still producing pzkw lll E. Plus if you have a pz lll variant with a good gun (5-5-0-0) why not then just improve the armour of that (5-5-5-0). Or since the extra armour slows it down IIRC, then make it 5-5-5-5 if you have the Combat Experience.

Or just produce the next model ;)

Do we actually know that you can have several variants of the same tank?

Afaik you can only have one upgraded variant at a time, but of course still improve it until you reach the 5 point cap. I dont think you can have 2 differently specialized variants of the same model. Thats what it looks like in the footage we have seen so far.

Not true. The game will prioritise the latest type of equipment, assuming that this will always be better than previous models/variants. That's why they get named Mk1, Mk2 etc.

You wouldn't be happy if you go to buy a new car and the salesman shows you the Mk1, when you know the manufacturer is producing Mk2s. Everyone wants the latest :)

Because the 5-5-5-5 variant will have a realy bad reliability

For each point you put into the tank the reliability will go down. If you do an 5-5-5-5 variant you might end up with an tank that has an reliability of only 40% and will break down alot and suffers from alot of critical hits since it is overengineered.
