Question to all MODers

Wondering if anyone else is having this problem.

I find it hard to play my own MOD. Just feels like I am playing against myself so I tend to quit after a few months. Just curious if other people had the same issue cause I find it rather funny!

I dont have a problem with 'playing myself' insofar as I didn't write the AI, but I find it difficult to play TGW because I simply don't have the time to do so - too much time developing it instead...

I agree with the "lack of time". As I enjoy being immersed in a historical "what-if" challenge it doesn't bother me at all that I'm the person that wrote the AI files, redesigned the combat model and placed the economic values.

Actually I very much enjoy playing my own mod (the rare times I can find the time) because I know just how much work went into it and I can enjoy the effort I've put in.

I actually have more trouble playing standard HOI than something I've modded, because I lose interest when I know there are big historical problems. Like starting the 1941 scenario and finding the UK has zero transports, so there's no way for me to reinforce Gibraltar, Malta, or Africa, and then a few weeks later Gibraltar and Malta are invaded. Just kind of kills my enthusiasm.

I don't have that problem with Axis and Allies, of course, but with HOI I have much higher expectations.
