Hi,

in my actual game (´36) I am playing Brazil and as I was Left wing radical I wanted to join Kommintern, South-America for the Commies, I thought :).

But when my relation to SU was at +200 in early 37 I could not join Kommintern. Why not? In a game as SU I once had a 7% chance that Brazil joins...

Well, Soon after I found out that I decided to join the Allies instead, the sooner the better for all the blueprints I need ;). After one election [left wing radical and elections? sounds strange to me] where I could choose elect right I got a much better HoS (without -10% IC) and in ´39 I finally joined the allies (37,38 and 39 slider moves to interventinism made that possible)

My question now: Why couldn´t I join Kommintern? Would it have been possible if I had chosen elect left (one more slider move to the left included - same HoS) or is it just impossible (in peace)?!?!?!? Or is it possible later, not in ´37?

Thanks in advance.

Comintern's interventionism is probably too low. Save the game, reload as SU, use F12 and freedom to set SU to full interventionism, save, reload as Brazil.

Or just use acceptall so you don't have to fiddle with Soviet sliders.

Then you'll just have to wait for Soviet intervention to climb. There are ai-specific events that increase it in 1940 and 1941, as well as a variety of standard events - including the SCW, the MR pact, the Bitter Peace, and some outcomes of the Winter War and the Bessarabian claims.

One thing's for sure, you can't use my usual tactic when I run into this as a major trying to ally minors. You can't coup them to increase their interventionism.

Do what you wish, but there are applications for cheats, just as there are for edits. If you think that it is ridiculous for the USA to ally with Germany after your SU attacks them to help save France, I see no problems with using it. Likewise, if you think an alliance between Brazil and the SU is logical, I see not problems with using it.

I don´t think it´s logical... I just thought it´s possible, and ahistorical possibilities - within game parameters - are fun. But well, perhaps if playing Brazil with the Allies becomes too boring I try again and wait for the SU interventionism slider moves.
But as Germany respected the treaty of Munich in March 39 GB never ensured the independence of Poland... I am really interested how this game develops...

Thanks for the answers.

I think somewhere in the files, it is coded in that communist china cannot join comintern, no?

Despite the harcoded events a lot seems to be possible. Like to play some alternate history fungames too. Just had a leftist radical US ally with fascist Japan to keep them out of my back and develop for the war with whoever should come out of WW2 alive. So I let the Japanese do on mainland Asia what they liked, economically supported the Brits in Europe against Germany and meanwhile spread my influence in South America. After couping Nationalist China, which took lots of trying I saw to my amusement that they - now leftist radical too - had made peace with Japan during the following round and now attacked the still small Communist China instead. Couping fascist Italy wasn't that successful though: went leftist radical, broke off from the Axis for 2 rounds and were back in thereafter. You won't need F12 for some suprising and funny results.

At first quiet normal. War against Poland on Septembre, 2nd. Allies declare war one day later.

But now the funny part: France falls, the only fighting going on is in northern Africa. Italians are quiet strong, so a few Brazilian troops help out (I am still building Industry for my 5th Tech team...)

Now it´s the year ´41
April, 2nd: SU declares war against France.
April, 4th: Fascist Tschechs declare war against... New Zealand!
April 7th: South Africa, who had left the Allies in Septembre ´39 after a peace with Germany was signed declare war against... Tannu Tuva!
April, 9th: Greece declares war against SU.
April, 23nd: Nat. Spain joins Axis.
May, 4th: Tchechs join Axis
May, 30th: Portugal joins Axis
June, 22nd: Germany declares war against SU
June, 26th: Greece joins Axis

Everybody vs. everybody, great!

edit: and USA send lend and lease to SU *lol*
